I am semi pro getting in a promising talent on loan with an option to buy, but there is still the risk then that the player will say no if we excercise the option to buy i guess?

An article i'm reading says just the opposite.

Just not what I think. Can be wrong though but have some well informed Bayern mates who tend to agree.

He was seen as big talent but there are some voices who are saying he was only impressive in the U17,19, 21 because of his body at these times.

Can was involved in a few friendlies and trainig session and no doubt he can do a job anywhere but I don't think it is us. What is Bayern expecting from such a loan spell?

Loving the banner at the top of the page for the Transfer Saga... slightly optimistic though I feel, replace some of those faces with the likes of C. Cole, D. Bent and P. Neville and you might be onto a winner ;)

Banner is top notch but surely there's a place for Fabiano peeping over the shoulder of David Villa?!

Have absolutely no idea as to how good this Can is/can be. Do suppose however (if the rumour is true), that the club have done their homework on the player...that Freund has worked with the lad on many occasions for the German U-17 national side indicates that he may well be something special.

Some people are often too quick to damn the club for missing out of top young talent before they truly blossom and cost a fortune. We have to trust those who are paid a lot of money to make the right calls on player recruitment and development.

I disagree with this, I think he would be a good signing for us. He is a 19 year old trying to break into the best team on the planet. He is a regular for the national team at his age group and the manager was one Steffen Freund. Why have Freund at the club if we don't trust his judgement?

I have seen Can a few times and he is a completely different player to 3 of the 4 THFC youth's you mentioned.

He may be a step further than our talents, but what happens when he has to settle in in a new league and country? He won't break through at Bayern. They are playing with Martinez & Schweinsteiger, BackUp no. 1: Gustavo, BackUp no. 2: Tymoshchuk. Then they have the much more talented 17 year old Hojbjerg and are believed to buy Sebastian Rode for this position, another young german prospect.

As I said he was hyped in the youth league, but I am not sure if he would be a useful addition for next season, as there are only a very few games to settle in.

And what is the point of investing in our youth and then buy them from somewhere else?

I am sceptical, but you never know. He would deserve a chance for sure.

I think we're at the point where we accept that Levy is our DOF. Despite this, and thank god he didn't let Redknapp have free reign, I think he still made a good few Redknapp signings, Parker, Friedel and all the old Portsmouth boys to name a few. Alongside this came people like Walker, Sandro et al.

So whilst Villa is the archetypal anti-Levy signing, its not beyond the realms of possibility that he'll get him ONE, just one, player Villas Boas wants...

I don't think Villa is likely and agree with JJ and RT on that, but unlike them I am glad Levy meddled with some of Redknapp's wish list, Both these guys seem to ignore the fact that Redknapp was backed heavily in his first 2/3 windows and bought a few players who were deemed surplus within 12/18 months and were hard to shift for value. He also brought in people like Gallas & Parker for Redknapp knowing they held no future value at all.

I'm pretty sure Portsmouth (and QPR) wish their chairman had meddled with Redknapp's wish list a little more.

It has nothing to do with him being a Gooner for me or many others, that's just a lazy argument used against those who criticize him. I had absolutely no issue, and in fact quite loved, Adebayor until his performances went so far south, and even then I made excused for him until it was impossible to do so. Nobody thought higher of the Gallas performance v Arsenal those years back than me either. But performances like that were not as commonplace as performances like his v Chelsea this season, where he had an absolute horror show. We should've signed him when he left Chelsea, but by the time he left Arsenal he was just not good enough anymore. How many players leave Arsenal without much resistance from Wenger and are still as good, or even anywhere near? None is the answer.

I think that's twaddle BBLG. Gallas put in some very performances this season, including games like ManU away. His performance against Chelsea wasn't bad, they just whacked two of his headers straight in.

His time is gone, but his defensive performances were overall generally more consistently decent than all of the other CB's. Dawson's been atrocious for the last 3 months, and even Vertonghen's been hit and miss defensively (he's a better footballer than Gallas though).

Old news but let this be done now DL!

"Recently we talked with Tottenham, Leandro is very likely to play games in England in the coming year. On the other hand, we can exclude Napoli."

To avoid the thread descending into farce, I think it would be best if wpd now came out and said who he means. I love a cryptic, we've had our fun guessing, got to our suspected final answer (Vydra) - now please let us know if we're right (y)

To avoid the thread descending into farce, I think it would be best if itk's now came out and told us everything. :cautious:

no point if it's a straight loan. pointless.

would also be strange for Bayern to just let him go or even give us the option to buy at the completion of the load. we wouldn't do it and i'd be surprised if a club like Bayern would

Right, I've calmed down and finally stopped laughing now. You guys take it so seriously. Think about it. We're trying to get
an-emre-can
on loan from Bayern! On loan. On bloody loan. An-emre-can! We've got two already.

Any itk linking us with Hanover Bel-jan or a Beetar Strykjar???

Pointless if it enables us to offload Parker and Livermore for £2m each and get shot of Parker's wages?

Hmmm, interesting that Emre Can thing. The few times i've seen him he's been playing as a number 10, am not sure how flexible he is or whether he can play a bit deeper. Seems a talent though, and setting up good relations with Bayern to borrow their young 'uns seems as bloody excellent idea.

I've not seen him do Yoga, but rumour is he's quite bendy.
