PFA Player of Year Nominees: Bale, Carrick, Hazard, Mata, Suarez, Van Persie.

PFA Young Player of the Year Nominees: Bale, Benteke, Hazard, Lukaku, Welbeck, Wilshere.

Ronaldo the last player to win both Player and Young Player awards on 06-07. Before that it was Andy Gray in 76-77 :X3:

Surprised Oscar isn't on the young list, Welbeck and Wilshere getting the overrated English vote.

Are the short listed players selected as the the top 6 voted players by the players? and do the players now vote again and pick one from the short list?

Winner is already decided for both awards, they just give out the nominations before as a tease. No more voting.

Can't wait to hear goons complain about their players being left out for poty.

These lists say a lot about the players that voted, its easier to just vote based on reputation.

Most probably aren't aware of any other suitable or more worthy candidates.

I think it will be a close run thing between Suarez, Bale and RvP.

Suarez has been excellent, RvP has essentially won Man United the League and well, bale we know...

Mata does deserve a good shout though.

Its also ridiculous the the PFA have to go on the defensive just because Suarez has been nominated.

Suarez's scoring tally is pushed up by his play against relegation fodder. I think intelligent voters will place that as a negative on him.

What a joke these awards have become! How can Welbeck possibly be nominated. He has 1 goal in the league this year and he's a forward. And Wilshere has barely even played this year. Then there's Hazard who is possibly one of the most inconsistent performers in the league. On his day he's amazing but those come few and far between. Congrats to Carrick for finally getting some recognition, though I don't think he deserved to win it

We are talking footballers and they voted around about the time when Bale was in ridiculous form just as van Persie dropped off a bit. Suarez I think has no chance. He's a great player, but lets face it, I wouldn't vote for him because he's a ****. I can't see Suarez racking up too many votes from black players and rightly so. He was actually confirmed as saying what he said to Evra. All these pro-Liverpool wanker pundits on Sky forget it all too well. I'm not saying we should be reminded at every turn, but if a fan can get a lifetime ban from stadia for racist language, why can a player be nominated for Player of the Year the next year?

Bale is POTY all day long, and by default also the Young Player of the year.

Wilshere will probably get thrown a bone though because he is the saviour of English football.
