Sounds like would have faced potentially harder teams if we won the group!

Would take any of them. Bring it on. Tottenham Chelsea final, we get our revenge and get Mourinho/Rafa/Wenger/Pep/Avram/Clarke sacked.

Crap...I wonder if Chelsea will actually go for Steve Clarke, West Brom would be unlucky if so.

Hannover for me. I really want to go to Germany again as I loved the Leverkusen and Bremen away trips we had!!!

Honestly not bothered who we get in so much as we shouldn't have an inferiority complex by any potential tie.

Push comes to shove, I'd rather avoid the long away trips and wouldn't mind a shot at Lyon - a fading force but a good European tie nonetheless which should get the crowds in and the players gee-ed up.

So how does this work now, do we play group winners or UCL failures?

The 12 group winners plus the 4 best teams from the 8 that move down from the CL are seeded
Then the 12 runners up plus the 4 worst teams to come down from the CL
No team can be drawn against the other team from its group or any team from its own country
I think so at least

By the looks of things coming second was better than winning the group. Would rather avoid a Russian/Ukrainian team. Genk look like the most appealing draw.

Lyon are currently top of Ligue 1 so that could be a tough one.

Genk, please!(y)

so in other words the top 16 teams start together and then the bottom 16 teams start together?

no team scares me and shouldn't worry the team (but there are better options then others) and to be honest outside of Country and Group it should all be shuffled as the importance varies from team to team.
