Although pleased with his performances and 13 goals last term our Belgian winger is determined to do better this coming campaign

Well pleased with the lad. Had his bad days but to score 13 goals from a non-striker position and costing only 8mil is an excellent return. Well done Nacer

Surely this is a reprint of what he said about this time last year.

And to be fair to the lad he backed it up. I also feel there is another level he can step upto yet if he has the drive for it so hopefully he is true to his word again.
Bit of consistency would be a start, his performance against Chelsea should be his benchmark.

Difficult season for him but he did OK. No problems offensively but quite lacking defensively in my book. Also has the ability to completely vanish during a game so you wouldn't know he was on the pitch - so, all in all, plenty of room for improvement. Hope he steps up.

His workrate in the last quarter of the season was poor. Hopefully that partly down to fatigue from a long season having also gone to Brazil last summer, but definitely room for improvement, despite a fantastic goal return.

I like Chadli, but something's missing from his game and I can't put my finger on it.

Sometimes I wonder if the problem is simply that I don't know who to compare him to.

With most good players, you think 'if he keeps improving he could be as good as....', whereas with Chadli I have no idea where his game can go from here.

He said the same thing this time last year and delivered, so let's hope the same thing happens this season.

That's probably a plus, means he's got unique qualities

Frustrating player IMHO, has so much ability and skill but needs to inject more passion and consistency into his game to improve more.

Perhaps you're right... although while I was cooking dinner I realised Chadli reminds me of a sort of Carrick on the wing. Functions silkily, effectively - very effectively - yet somehow leaves you wanting more.

Like i said when we first signed him Chadli...he is a slow burner. He has mad skills scores goals but can improve work off the ball and can improve he's consistency.

£7M bargin really.

He has potential to be a beast, he's huge, for a quick winger. But he rarely throws himself about, strolls around far to much, like he's on 60% all the time. When he wants it he is a force to be reckoned with, just need to see that more often.

Considering his size and strength he really doesn't offer enough defensively and generally looks to be in cruise control. No doubting his talent but too much of a poser for my liking.

Next season will define him as there'l be no excuses (transition to PL/world cup etc). If he ramps up the work-rate and maintains the goal scoring, he'll be considered successful.
