Spurs - “We have been advised by MLS to remit payment of the full transfer fee directly to MLS in accordance with the transfer agreement and that MLS will ensure the appropriate treatment of any and all onward payments,”

it sounds very much as if Yedlin's registration was with MLS/Seattle Sounders and Spurs have paid them as per contract but MLS/Seattle have not paid any of the clubs who trained him, so nothing to do with Spurs.
