I think it would be a mistake for Colombia to play Rodriguez. It feels like they're trying to force his recovery so he's back to "scare" England. Reminds me of the 98' final with Ronaldo, could end up having a terrible game and bringing the rest of the team down with him. IMO there's enough talent in that Colombia side to cause England problems without him.

Also I don't want him to play because he's their best player but ssshhhhh keep that on the DL.

The build up or the finish? Because the finish was bodged. The build up however was magical, don't see goals like that too often.

The whole thing, if it was a bodge, I’ll happily forgive it (like Rooney’s partially Shinned overhead kick) because Cavani stretched every sinew to get something on that and whatever he got on it, it thundered past their keeper. It was a brilliant bit of striker play.

And that Uruguay v Portugal game was much better than the France/Argentina game.

I think France have a fantastic group of players, I’d have many of them at Spurs in a heartbeat, including some that aren’t starting, but I have absolutely no idea what type of team France are, what their tactical strategy is, and I don’t think the players do either.

They have the array of talent to wing results, so I could easily be wrong, but I think Uruguay will grind them into submission next round.

I think France will dominate the CM and also have too much firepower for Uruguay

Portugal could (and possibly should) have won that game yesterday; B.Silva should have buried that open goal chance, and as much as Cavani's finish was sublime for his second I have no idea why the defender wasn't tracking his run

Portugal aren't an elite side like France are

In my opinion of course :)

Two cracking goals from Cavani. That first one was one of the best headed (faced?) goals I’ve seen, just so ferocious. And the second goal was a thing of absolute beauty.
It’s interesting that over here in ?? the post match analysis blamed the keeper for the second goal, at least in part.

Cavani opens his body up so early that the keeper should have anticipated the shot better and been better set. I mean, it’s not wrong, but I prefer praising the strike (which to be fair was the co commentators view point).

Just thought it was worth bringing up.

In theory you should be right, they have a team and midfield capable of dominating, but that midfield hasn’t dominated anyone yet, even Argentina’s mess of a midfield.
