We wont be signing DeLigt or De Jong.

They are exactly the type of players we should be signing and have signed before (Sanchez). But these guys are a step ahead in their development and now firmly under the eyes of the elite clubs. We've missed the boat imo.

Plus we've not a pot to piss in.

Don't write us off just yet. We are becoming a different animal with the stadium and development players. DeLigt imo doesn't make sense now we know Foyth imo is the real deal. De Jong you could say Winks has come through personally I'd go hard for Grealish

Tbh my comments on de jong were more about the broader spectrum of European players getting over hyped. Let’s be honest 20 years ago we wouldn’t even know a player like de jong even existed. But now with twitter FIFA FM etc players get ridiculously over hyped. Was just like Keita, yes potentially he looks a decent player. But what had he really done to justify the hype. Had a decent season in a league probably a level below PL, nothing in CL and obviously nothing internationally. Yet was being spoken about like he was the greatest midfielder for a decade. I can’t deny I get excited about our youth prospects like Foyth. And yes I did compare his “style” of play to Beckenbauer. But it was just a comparison, all you can say at this point is that foyth has bags of potential. And imo that’s all you can really say about de jong. I’m sure if he was at PSV and not Ajax the hype might not be quite as intense.

Oh dont get me wrong. We're on a upwards trajectory and mega signings are around the corner once Enic sells us on. But both would fit into our squad perfectly imo. Especially with Toby's and Dembele's situations.

If City get De Jong then that is one of our biggest rivals for a CM sorted. Doesn't mean we get Ndombele but it certainly gives us a slightly better chance of him or someone else of quality.

Except that's just not true. De Jong averages about 19 more passes per 90 than Winks, but their forward passes per 90 are actually the exact same. Winks forward passes as a percentage of his total passes is much higher than De Jong's.

Sorry, I don't trust squawka stats. It's very difficult to rate passes with numbers. A 1 meter or 20 meter forward pass will be the same for squawka. Is a pass 10 meters to the left, but 1 meter forward a forward pass or a sideways pass for squawka??
I trust what I see with my own eyes, and I don't have an agenda against or for any of the 2 players mentioned

Think we're set to lose minimum Janssen, Dembele and Nkoudou in January, with only Dembele being replaced. The rest of our buys will be a mixture of homegrown, opportunistic, or homegrown & opportunistic buys. Which I don't think is enough, but we have to take wat we can get at this point unfortunately.

I didn't quite fathom how much DL ballsed up the summer, but holy shit did DL balls up the summer..

Clubs do need to want to buy the players we want to sell!

I know his had injuries but Dembele is a hard man to replace, so are victor and rose but if fit they are great players, we need to improve full backs and CM.

He is apparently available for 50 mill so he is actually realistic for us. It comes down to competition for his signature imo.

50m you say?

You do know we spent fuck all in the summer right?

Cant see any signings until next summer unless we can shift the shit we've bought but even then I dont believe Levy capable of shifting them.
