Odd pairing but I suppose it covers the whole range of midfield abilities.
Proper Tottenham inspired boy boy
I feel that this 'Spurs' identification is crucial to our current team spirit.
Why isn't he starting today and why not against Sunderland?
Wanyama and Dembele is belt braces and a piece of string.

Lets hope he becomes the next Luka Modric and not the next Nabil Bentaleb

Not as odd as it sounds. Both share one similarity, they both like to move the ball around quickly, largely on the ground (although Parkers range was a bit limited).

I agree that we are under using Winks. Maybe he shouldn't start but if things aren't going away Poch needs to be quicker to bring him into the fold, even at half time.

Totally different personalities I'd imagine. I'd liken him more to Ryan Mason or Andros Townsend in the attitude department. Neither could really make a sustained breakthrough but the club seem more confident with Winks.

One good thing he did not pick up from Parker is that he doesn't pirouac for no reason.:)

I like Winks but he's not there yet. Making comparisons won't help him to develop into what I suspect he'll end up being, a very good midfielder but not quite up there with Modric. In the same way I didn't like it when Edwards was compared to Messi.

What if Bentaleb comes back to become an ace left-back? Apparently, he was very good there before.

We've got one already. Either a) get rid of Davies and have Rose/Bentaleb compete for games or b) sell him for +millions.

Good to see admiration for Parker... people always lament Rafa, Luka and Bale from that team, but offer gloss over Parker; who's supreme presence in front of the back four gave Modric the freedom to carry the ball up and distribute.

One of the best CM pairings I've seen in the game

I feel a fully fit Sandro with Modric would have taken some beating.

Shame we didn't actually get to see it too often.

"World Class" Sandro remains one of the most overrated Spurs players in my opinion. He was decent player, but nowhere near Parker's class.

Mason did but injuries meant we found better options sooner.

Before the injuries I think he had the ability to be so, not saying Parker wasn't good but I feel he didn't reach the levels he showed earlier on in his career.

In the begining with Charlton, he showed the dyamism of Roy Keane but at Chelsea he just couldn't repeat it. I think again he may have had a long term injury while he was there but not sure.

Parker was a great professional.
