2013 - W21 D9 L8 F66 A46 72pts

I think it's the goal difference which is more indicative of why we feel how we do about this season. We've actually got the chance to record our highest total of league wins in the PL.

Sadly those hammerings have really countered the fact that overall in terms of straight win % it's actually been a 'good' season.

I see what you're getting at. But just shows how far we've come in the last 8 years. For as long as I can remember, we were desperate to get into the EUFA Cup and not finish 10th again. Now we will probably match our record points tally in the PL, are dissapointed to finish maybe 6th, possibly 5th. Don't want to be in europe as it's a distraction! We've gone from being 20 odd points off of the top 4, to being within a point (generally) most seasons off Arse. That is progress.

Well said. We made a lot of progress through the leadership of Levy. And his managerial appointments of late have not been bad. Not to many complained about Ramos, Jol, Redknapp and AVB. ... or Hoddle. Look at united and Liverpool or even Chelsea... Proven its not an exact science getting the right man

I do agree this season has been poor, but I would 'love it, just love it' if Arsenal had a meltdown and spurs win their last two games to sneak into fourth! Stranger things have happened.

not gonna happen. Everton had the best chance of catching Arsenal and they are doing their best to hand it to them on a plate

Sorry to be negative but when have stranger things happened?

I thought there were a lot of sleepy, end of season, nothing to play for performances from our players yesterday.
Play like that against Wham and they will thump us - again.

It is ridiculous but we need a point at west ham if we want 6th place - manu with a new manager bounce could easily finish with 69 points.

I feel a record 69 points and 7th place beckoning....

Some of the relegation escapes performed in the past by Fulham and Coventry City come to mind. But for us to overtake both Everton and Arsenal from this position would be more than strange, it would be freakish.

Freakish, yes perhaps. But the funny thing is we could be making it slightly more likely to happen as a club. We all know Arsenal are legends under pressure (and the same seems to be true of Everton). I'd like to see Tim Sherwood declaring in the press that we'll be chasing them all the way. And I'd like to see the Spurs supporters not only backing him but backing the team with a bit of belief.

These things make a difference - the extra mile. I'm convinced that one of the reasons Spurs have underachieved for so long is that there is an atmosphere of negativity throughout the club and among us fans.

think our problem is the board, heard from a reliable source that LVG wanted full control of playing staff, transfers etc and Levy wouldn't compromise, despite submitting a huge offer to execute the deal. Baldini is also set to be axed.
Frank de boer has been mentioned, or even Rafa Benitez who tactically can set up a team for the big games, but not moyes and not a coach who can't speak english (pochettino)
to win at stoke was a superb result, even with chadli in centre midfield, so even Sherwood deserves some credit.
some people on hear, still slag off harry redknapp, but two top four finishes and football with flair and panache still aint good enough for some supporters, and not forgetting mr levy and lewis and co.
whoever is in charge next season, got one hell of a job to keep everyone happy
