Kike Marin is meant to be decent RE arsenal stuff, mind their fans slated him a few days ago for saying they weren't in for pepe:LOL:

I could be wrong but, if Kike Marin is decent about Arsenal stuff, and he appears to be, then that's because he has a source within Arsenal.

And so if Kike Marin says Saliba prefers Arsenal, that's because an Arsenal source has told him that.

However, the only way that Arsenal, or any source within Arsenal, would know this is if the agent told them this.

And, frankly, if you were the agent, you would tell Arsenal that. But then you'd tell Tottenham the same.

Because your interests, and the player's interests, are best served by keeping everybody sweet.

And/or playing both parties off against each other.

Because you have less leverage if only one party is involved.

So it may well be that Saliba prefers Arsenal.

Or it may well be that Arsenal are just less able to keep their information quiet than Tottenham are.

Time will tell.

But I wouldn't go wetting the bed just yet.

Especially now it's bedtime.

The amount of fucking bed wetting in this thread and the forum in general. Jesus Christ. Get a fucking grip.

Come on guys, don’t panic, you don’t want to incur the wrath of SargeantMeatCurtains from the internet ?

In truth, we do require major surgery this summer but it seems like our inability to sell players could hamper us again. We really have trouble flogging players - are we just over-valuing them?

I’m a big fan of your short paragraphs. And I’m a non-virgin constantly affirming my non-virgin status. So to get my interest is impressive

I’m not over reacting but I’d say choosing Arsenal is basically admitting that you would rather sleep with Theresa May than Margot Robbie........

Is everyone forgetting Jan made essentially the same decision to come to us when fortunes were reversed?

Maybe they’ve courted him for a while and the manager has made a good impression?

Look, objectively you’d say we had a better case at present, but he’s 18 and might just feel it makes sense for the next phase of his career.

If we get him, great, if we don’t, it’s a shame but let’s not pretend he must be mentally retarded to choose them

Also the arsenal squad and bosses flew to the us before we bid. So he might have wanted to join them before we bid but does he now we have?

St Etienne to Arsenal is a fantastic career move no doubt about it.

I think most people right now would say Spurs is an even better one. Better squad, better manager, better facilities and playing in better competitions. Also likely to offer the same financial package. Plus our fans aren't campaigning against the owner!

If Arsenal's longstanding interest wins the day fair play to him though. Like you said it worked out for Jan.

He looks a good talent but there are a lot of them out there. I hope he chooses us but if not I'm sure we'll have other options. Most of us just enjoyed the drama of panicking Arsenal regardless!

We have just spent £65m, had a £55m bid turned down and bid another £30m for saliba. Before any sales.
Imagine what we'll do if we do sell a few. I wouldn't worry.

lol at the people putting out fires in this thread.

It's okay to be annoyed and even have your buns a little burnt, otherwise what's the point in having this platform?

Fantastic explanation can't argue with any point you've put?

It's ridiculous. We've probably made the best signing of the summer and people are getting bent out of shape with potentially missing out on an 18 year-old who would likely be getting limited minutes.

Yes, he may go on to be a class CB but equally he could just be the next Younes Kaboul. If they'd pipped us to the signing of Ndombele then I would be concerned.
People just want more signings done generally and are getting ‘twitchy’ in certain departments (maybe bedwetting ones).
Great signing and great potential for Clarke next year.
Hopefully others will make it over the line. Maybe including Saliba.

There was. Stoof has just stamped England’s Cricket World Cup win. It’s official now, finally I can start celebrating!

P.S. Stoof if you could stamp my marriage from two weeks ago that would be great. She’s furious I still won’t wear the ring and doesn’t understand when I say it’s not official.

Joking aside, really hope we get this kid. Not just because of who it will have been done against, but because it just makes good sense. Loan him back while we have Toby for a year, give the kid another year of regular football before beginning to get him in the squad at the beginning of pre-season next year. With him, Sanchez and Foyth hopefully becoming the player I think he can be, we’ll have 10+ years of defence (until they go to RM)

Fully agree, more amazing is that one or two posters get anxious and that idiotic term gets bandied about.

Any thread would be an absolute bore if we all sang from the same hymn sheet.

Maybe he wants to go to Arsenal because it was his childhood favourite club and he would be living his dream of playing alongside his all time favourite defender - Mustafi ?‍♂️

Again this is a penis joke.
