One meeting with Poch will probably be enough for him to back out of an agreement with the Goons to be fair, if it gets that far.

If we are really in for him, why wouldnt he favour us? The captain of the French national team, its next leading CM and the GOAT are at Spurs. Who do the Arse have? A senior French player who has thrown his toys out of the pram :D

Saw this on their forum,

Being reported now on french radio .......
Spurs have bid slightly over the asking price for Saliba with no loan back .
It’s believed to be €32 .
Roma In talks with Alderweireld for €29.
Almost a straight swap

Even if it comes to nothing the meltdown on twitter is worth its weight in gold :ROFLMAO:

While the meltdown is all very funny at the moment, if they sign him it'll soon be forgotten about and they'll have a very promising looking player on their books.

Hope we pull this off, because he does look very good from the 15 minutes of YouTube research I have conducted ;)

I don’t know if it’s fake or real .Spurs fans asking supposedly Saliba’s agent on Instagram about the deal & him replying ‘let’s see’ & ‘not yet’ .

This is getting even more hilarious , if true :ROFLMAO:

The wording Arsenal have used through their journos saying they ‘still expect player to keep his word and sign for them’ makes me think they are worried.

If we signed him, I'd buy next season's shirt (prob away) and for the first time in my adult life I'd get another man's name on my back.

Seems strange that we would let arsenal get this far down the line with the player if we are seriously interested. Probably just leaked bs to get either more money up front or a better wage packet.

Arsenal don't have the best record of developing either young players or defenders.

Seems the reverse situation to Vertonghen back when Arsenal came in for him last minute but he chose to sign for us...

It won’t look good if he turns us down.

Hope that we have spoken to him and his agent already and agreed everything.

This is the type if signing we should be making, long term succession planing as he will be vertonghen’s replacement long term.

Tottenham ready to hijack William Saliba transfer and blow Arsenal out of the water

Tottenham are ready to hijack Arsenal’s deal for young defender William Saliba, with the Gunners unwilling to pay a hefty fee up front this summer.

Arsenal were close to finalising a deal with Saint Etienne, though have been in talks over a payment structure weighted towards next summer with the French side adamant that the 18-year-old returns on loan for the 2019-20 season following any deal.

A small payment this summer would ensure that Unai Emerykeeps the majority of his £40million transfer kitty to spend ahead of the new season while also landing an exciting prospect in a year’s time.

Tottenham, however, have more money to spend this summer thanks to their run to the Champions League final, as well as not signing any players for the two windows previous to this one.

Spurs are now ready to blow Arsenal out of the water with an upfront offer to prise the highly-rated defender away from their fierce rivals, a day after club captain Laurent Koscielny attempted to force his way out of the club by refusing to travel on the pre-season tour of the United States.

Tottenham have already signed midfielder Tanguay Ndombele and Leeds youngster Jack Clarke this summer, with the latter returning to Elland Road on a season long loan.

With Toby Alderweireld - who can leave north London for £25million before the final two weeks of the window - edging towards an exit and Jan Vertonghen having a contract until next season, Mauricio Pochettino is likely to need defensive reinforcements next summer

Maybe we had to wait for some sort of movement with Toby first before we could do something here?

Could this be one of the players who's been waiting to see what we do, before making his choice?
I would LOVE it, if it was!

I don’t even care if we sign him but this will mean that Arsenal will have to use more of their little budget to get him or risk fucking off the dude from the Big Lebowski
