I have no idea if he's what we need or want but the Gooner misery is priceless. No doubt they'll pitch in for Toby if we nick Saliba, and tbh, I have no idea why they haven't tried already.

He defo fits the age profile hercs mentioned, however i assume clubs and owners k ow the game and want a bidding war , especially PL clubs, they milk the cow home good!!! ... would be funny if we did steal hi from arse, however may mean TA is defo going this summer which is sad.

None of this will mean anything if he still wants the goons.

They do have a particularly strong appeal to French players
Could be a factor but I imagine it'll largely come down to money and future prospects. We certainly look the more likely of the two clubs to offer CL football and given Jan's age and the Toby situation, he'll have a good chance of getting into the first team after a year on loan back at St Etienne (if we pull this off I imagine that will be the plan).

This would be hilarious. But aside from getting one up on Arsenal, if we do sign him does anyone have any knowledge on his ability?
Fucking shit hot. Has everything and will be the best CB in the world in a few years if we sign him...

... nothing special, overrated, will get exposed playing in the PL and Sanchez has a much higher ceiling anyway if we don’t.

Hope that helps (y);).

Saliba signed and loaned back with Toby seeing out his last year does make a lot of sense. I don’t see Roma having the clout to get him. Nothing wrong with having a world class centre half for another year whilst his replacement is wrapped up playing week in-week out ready to come in the following season.
