Saliba signed and loaned back with Toby seeing out his last year does make a lot of sense. I don’t see Roma having the clout to get him. Nothing wrong with having a world class centre half for another year whilst his replacement is wrapped up playing week in-week out ready to come in the following season.

And on top of that, Vertonghen will be 33 and out of contract next summer, so independent of what happens with Toby, we're going to need more defensive reinforcements sooner rather than later.

Not on the level of henry, petit, vieira etc
I think you're overestimating the appeal. If the kid grew up a massive, die-hard Arsenal fan then sure, but otherwise is he really gonna base his future on a few French players that retired years ago? I think most young players don't care about the romance - they just want money, playing time and potential silverware.

Sorry for the crudeness, I'm no graphic artist...but this is how I feel right now.

There is a possibility that Levy is attempting to leverage more money from the scum for the player...he's done it before, I believe. [Ings - Burnley to Scousers]

This window is quite weird.
Could be a warning shot to stop the Arse meddling in the Ceballos deal as they have been linked in the media

Have no idea of his ability but this would be the best signing of the summer.
Haha! Absolutely! I wonder if Levy has bugged the Ar$enal boardroom so we can just pick off any decent players they are after to make more salty situations for their pathetic fans...

I actually still think he'll sign for Arsenal but I've never been invested in this transfer so watching the tears of their fans, even if its for a few hours, is still magical.

Well this would be highly amusing. Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s just St Etienne trying to push the price up though, and Levy playing along for shits and giggles.
