To be fair, isn't everything beyond our financials after this summer?

Don't be so negative, we're pushing fairly hard for the 16 year old keeper from Shamrock Rovers...though apparently we're still some was off their expectations. Actually true.

Literally, you'd couldn't make this stuff up!

We've been joking about the cheese room but it looks like Levy's got to spring for a new fire alarm system so that's our wide forward..

I'm quite glad we didn't get him in the end with all of his dipshit Instagram posts making Palace & other fans question what was going on. He probably didn't intend for it but even if that's the case I'd want someone with more brains than he does for the money being touted about

so you're saying you wouldn't want a player he would likely improve our first team and undoubtedly our squad, because he may or may not be a bit stupid or attention seeking. makes sense...

I'm saying that for £60m-£70m I wouldnt want the club to invest in someone that's a bit too stupid to be a top class player. Doing it for Palace is completely doing it for a team like Spurs. He comes with warning signs regardless of how exceptionally well he's played for Palace the past year or so

You're judging his intelligence based on throwaway Instagram stories which is frankly stupid in itself. Get used to not liking any players born in the last 20 years though.

You're comparing Messi & Ronaldo to Zaha? Come on man they've proven themselves as top, elite players. Zaha does it in a team that wins once every 5-6 games &a he was out the door as quickly as he was in it when he got his move to Man U. If Palace don't win a game and he has an off day nobody bats an eyelid. What I'm saying is I question his mentality for someone that would cost the club a genuine arm & a leg. If he was £40m I'd be ok with it but for £60m-£70m I have genuine concerns about parts of his character. You need a little something more when you're in the limelight like you would be as a footballer for a club like Spurs

complete contradictions there imo.

subjective, but at a good team (like us), he'd be one of the best in the league I think. Also, where do you draw the line over whether someone is good enough to make a few throwaway posts on social media? What about the other examples I mentioned, that you ignored?

also, if he stopped making social media posts, would he then be worth an additional £20-30m instantly?

Not at all. I'm questioning his mentality after numerous silly posts that people linked to transfer moves awa because of his wording, along with his choice to flee Man U without knuckling down and finding a way and to top it off his decision to sign a 5 year extension today that pretty much rules him out of a genuine, realistic & financial viable move to a big club again. I think he's a wonderful talent, extremely tricky and he keeps getting no better but for a player that would have cost at least 50% more than our current record signing did, he comes with some questionable risks

Where are there contradictions? I think attitude & character are hugely important things when shelling out for an elite player at an elite cost. The trickle down effect will play its part on the youngsters, ethos of the club etc. I remember reading that Pochettino wasn't impressed with the flash car Nkoudou arrived in on his first day of training. How do you think Poch would feel if he shelled out huge money on him and he turned up first time around in his Gold Lamborghini, which he does own. The point I was making is he would clearly make the quality in the squad go up, he'd do that in any squad in the world but for a record deal, he concerns me with his consistency, intelligence & risk. Entirely my opinion though

prices are increasing at a ridiculous rate, percentage increase is meaningless. he went to man utd as a kid and didn't work out for one reason or another, hardly a reason to write him off! quality player and making a few posts on social media is pretty good going by today's standards. was just a very strange comment imo, that you wouldn't want a very good player because of it.

It's not that I wouldn't want him because of it, the point I was making was I want someone I feel far more comfortable with knowing he will be a success for the money being touted. He flopped at Man U, made only a couple of appearances for them if I recall correctly and now he signs a new 5 year deal at a club where he isn't yet to find double digits in goals or assists in a Premier League season. I want the best players at the club but I look at our transfer activity & profit % and its abundantly clear to me the importance of balancing both. I think falling back on him to be a genuine shining light in our team, a mainstay and a talisman which Is expect for c£70m comes with warning signs.

I also think the transfer market will slow down soon/ over the next few years and the inflation won't continue being as severe, so we'll see what happens next I guess

I met a girl, an ok nothing special kind of a person.

I was much better than the guy she was with and decided I wanted her.

I pursued her for months and finally got the girl.

I then remembered she wasn’t anything special and didn’t really want her that much once I had her.
