looks like we need to finish 3rd to avoid chelsea taking our place if we finish 4th again. they have an easy path to the europa final.

or win the cl...
Doesn't effect top 4, there would be 5 teams in it same as year United won it.

Yup you're gonna need an unlikely scenario of Liverpool, City or United dropping out the top 4 and one of them going onto winning the CL, whilst we finish 4th and Chelsea win the EL, don't think that's gonna happen somehow.

sorry missed the bit about an english team winning the cl - only 5 teams can qualify from one league so if man ure win the cl and chelsea win el and both are outside top 4 - the 4th place team misses out. unlikely, but we are spurs!

The problem is, even against Dortmund, we gave them quite a few chances which a proper side would have buried. It was very last ditch for parts of the tie.

I just don’t think we are a very good side this season so I can’t be too confident about it. If we actually looked really solid at the back and great going forwards then I’d be more optimistic. I just think we have declined as a side and even against Dortmund I thought we got lucky rather than a hugely impressive performance. I don’t think we have a CM capable of controlling a game against City especially over two legs.

Just being realistic, still I will hope this time it will be different. We will have to play amazingly well and be very clinical with any chances and hope their attackers have an off day! I fear the worst!

so in other words you don't think fans ever give the players a lift?
They can, but I don't think our fans do that any better or worse than anyone else's. I think the footballing quality of the team, the tactics of the coach and the attitude the players step on to the field with make up the vast majority of what determines the result a match, with the odd X-factor variables of luck and performance of the match officials making up the rest. I think any influence the fans have is very low down the list indeed, and I think that our fans are no better or worse than any other club's. When things are going well, we cheer, when things aren't going well, we moan. Just like every other club's fans.

Nope. We’d still get CL. They changed the rules a few years ago.

FFS. Not mad because we might not win, (because we will), but because it is so typical. Liverpool gets it easy, United get it cool, and Spurs is drawn in the all-English tie that was destined to be "drawn".

I think we'll be fine.

UNLESS, City play De Bruyne.

Or, Aguero.

Or Sané.

Or Silva.

Or B.Silva.

Or Sterling.

Or Mahrez.

Or Jesus.

Edit: Disappointed to have drawn an English team, but bring it on.

Positive head on? City may well have an FA cup Semi-Final the weekend before the first leg.
Plus we get an extra days rest before the second leg.
Maybe clutching at straws?
No reason we cannot go through if we play to our maximum level. COYS!!!!!

Anything can happen in football but right now with the porous defence a non existent midfield protection and not scoring enough goals, it is hard to believe that we will get past one of the best side's the EPL has ever seen.

Exactly. It’s weird, over the last few seasons I would have been confident. But not this season, too many key players well below par, I just think it’s beyond us getting past city over two legs. Imperative we keep a clean sheet at home.

Nope. From the New Stadium Announcement:

If Brighton win their FA Cup quarter-final match on Sunday 17th March we shall play Crystal Palace on Wednesday 3rd April and Brighton on 23rd/24th April.

If Brighton lose their FA Cup quarter-final match on Sunday 17th March we shall play Brighton on 6th/7th April (subject to Champions League scheduling) and Crystal Palace on 23rd/24th April.

So if Brighton lose the game will now be moved forward to the 6th of April, probably at 5.30 as there appears to be a free slot there.

Think there is a chance the Brighton game could also be on Saturday 6th April with a 7:45pm kick off too?

As its FA Cup semi final weekend, one of the FA Cup Semi Finals are likely to be played on 6th April too with a 5:30pm or 7:45pm kick off?

All irrelevant if Brighton win in the FA Cup this weekend though......can't imagine the Premier League making an announcement on this game being rearranged today with there still a chance that it won't go ahead anyway.....

It's difficult seeing us keeping a clean sheet in either game although I do believe we can or will score but worried about our ability to keep them out.

This fixture used to be Lamela's specialty, didn't it? Or have I remembered it wrong?

Beat City and we make the final.

But we won't beat City... :(

The fact we're leaking goals left, right and centre scares me as they have goals from the left, the right and especially the centre. Sane V tripper is terrifying
