For what it's worth, majority of Liverpool fans were saying this exact same thing after they drew City last year...

Having said that, Liverpool have a much better head to head record against City recently than we do.

Are you sure, that doesn’t sound like any Liverpool fan I know?

I doubt that, they had already ripped City apart once before that.

Yuk. It's always a bit shit when two teams from the same league meet in the CL unless it's the final. Plus our first CL game in the new stadium against a team we play all the time anyway?:LOL::ROFLMAO:

It’s not about our chances of winning - it’s about having a prestigious, huge European Cup quarter final ruined by having to play not just another English team, but a club which is just a bankrolled oil baron plaything with no substance to them.

This was an opportunity for a huge, massive night of football at the new stadium against either a European Great or at least a massive English club with rich history.

As it is we’re basically going to be playing a bunch of banker ****s with no history.

Disaster.

Ha ha, they've switched the Utd vs Barca game so that Utd play at home first so it doesn't clash with our game vs City. Couldn't have switched our game instead could they. You could not make this shit up.
That was announced ahead of time - its in the UEFA rules - if there is a conflict - the team that finished lower in the league the previous year will have their match switched.

i fucking hate Liverpool, worst draw possible, home first as well
fuck off liverpool

to be honest, the noise of the 1st leg might get us a result, where had we played at the Etihad 1st and got a tonking, the noise level or even crowd level might of dropped big time. get a result at home, and hopefully play it like Dortmund away. if that works we can play it like that a few days later in the league

No, they couldn't. It's the rules that the Higher placed domestically (last seaon) gets the advantage.

One thing's for sure - head groundsman, don't you dare cut that new pitch from now until the QF. We want it looking like a long-grass.

Our aggregate league results vs City, since poch took over:

14/15 - 2-4
15/16 - 6-2
16/17 - 4-2 (Pep’s first season)
17/18 - 2-7
18/19 - 0-1 (so far)

So not entirely impossible...although we haven’t beaten them (or drawn) since they became shit hot last season & on current form for each side, I can’t see anything other than a massacre across the 3 games ?.

With that said, I think a lot depends on the first leg - crowd will be up for it regardless (unless city score an early goal)...get a result there and who knows what can happen.

Because who we play has any bearing? Why does everyone always want a prestigious draw against a top side? It’s a bad draw for us because City has our number. Not because of what they are or arent. It’s still a CL night at a brand new stadium. If people cant get themselves up for that, then what are they even doing watching this sport.

The toughest possible draw for us and away in both 2nd legs!!!

To win it we'll need to beat City, Juve, Barca

The only chink of light I can see v City is that it will be our 2nd game at home, under the lights and at Anfield in the CL last season with an incredible atmosphere City fell apart.

The NWHL can almost replicate Anfield, especially as we'll be euphoric after just moving home (and not having to endure wembley anymore) so it gives us a chance. Gutted we're not home 2nd leg though!

When you look at our results in the CL over the last two seasons our away record is amazing. I actually think playing home first suits us. A clean sheet will be needed but then we can go away and sneak a result ... only Inter have beaten us on their own ground and that was a game we so should have won. Gutted we have an English team as it's so boring to play the same old teams but it is what it is so we might as well beat the best

You don’t understand.

Glory Glory nights in Europe were never about beating another English side - especially a corrupt money-laundering vehicle like City - they have always been about playing great sides from around Europe, being able to look back and talk about that great night when we beat Inter at the Lane, that magic night when Harry scores three against Ajax etc - fuck City.

If you don’t understand that then you never will.
