Where would Roque Mesa fit in at Spurs?

Thanks, nice article on the player although links are rather tenuous.

You'd think that perhaps he has something to offer, though I can't see us signing a player to replace Wanyama, who has probably now secured his spot as DM over Dier. He also doesn't seem to fit the profile to replace Dembele, with Winks surely earmarked for that role?

Complete nonsensical speculation.

Care to elaborate? When I saw the complaints my initial response was "oh not again", thinking that it was going to be a pretty weak article but having read it I actually think it's pretty good and the kind of interesting thing that should be posted on here.

It's an extensive article but I can't see us buying him, 1, because we spent big last summer and 2, we have VY and Dier if there are any funds I think we will look at someone more creative.

Our first question might be Who?
At 27 it might be too late for When?
With at least 4 ahead of him as the article mentions
the real question is Why? not Where?
So my final comment is What?

Doesn't seem as if these Spurs fans watch Spurs too often.

The transfer rumours threads (when open) are absolutely full of threads regarding linked players and people discuss exactly this kind of thing

By the looks of him he'd be a great addition to the squad. Agile, energetic and can pick a good pass out. I know little else about this player but if PL teams are interested in him then well worth a punt.

In fairness Jimmy, we don't have four ahead of him with his skill set. If Poch wants quality in the squad overall then this is exactly the kind of player suited to our style of play and with Lamela likely (in my opinion) to be off i'd welcome him with open arms to be honest.

Thanks,I understand what you are saying
but he has only recently made it into the senior ranks
never played outside Spain and is 27.
Certainly robust and a good passer.
He would block Winks and duplicate Wanyama, Dier and Dembele
I watched him when Real Madrid played Las Palmas recently
was impressed with him and Vincente Gomez
who has a very similar profile.
They outplayed Real Madrid for long stretches in midfield.
Incidentally ex Spur Boateng scored in that game.
Always a risk taking players from Spain as we know.

Not a bad article. Not sure it belongs on the front page but the content is better than before.

Complete nonsensical speculation.

Kind of goes hand in hand with transfer rumours.

I hadn't heard of the player before the recent rumours. Other papers and sites are just putting the name out there with no content.

This article at least tells a bit about who he is and how he could potentially fit into our side.

Football Whispers sharing content really has highlighted how many needlessly unfriendly posters there are on this site.

I think it's a case of people being resistant to change, FW said he felt like Eric Bishoff and it is a bit like that. New members who are not going with the flow will get some stick, I got it a lot in the early days. If FW just sticks with it and makes every article as extensive as this, they'll be fine.

I think it is more difficult for active posters rather than content providers, like FW, to get accepted though.

A new posters can spam alot, dominate threads talking shit, starting multiple threads etc. This makes an active impact on the site and people will get annoyed at it.

FW provide articles with more analysis behind them than the average newspaper article.

If posters don't like it they can just ignore those threads. If they disagree with parts of the article they can debate this.

But most of the criticism seems to be from people who haven't read the articles and just make shitty comments for no reason.

Makes SC look like a bunch of assholes basically.

First of all, we have a similar style player in Harry Winks coming up very nicely, so why spend hard earn money on Messa when the cash could be used to buy a proper understudy to Harry Kane? (we are definitely not Chelsea or the Manchester clubs). Besides, can you recall the last time Poch buys a 5'7'' player? He had sold a few (Lennon, Carroll, and even Mason), but tends to prefer physically imposing ones such as Sissoko, and Wanyama. But mainly, our need is not a Messa, but perhaps a Zaha, who can played alongside Kane or replace him when injured (such as now.) Hence my previous negative quote about the article.
