Thing is though, I really hope Son can emulate him. I obviously wish Son to be the better player.

I try and remain realistic though and try to avoid RAWK level bias. (Not saying that applies here btw, just in general) That’s all it is here, I just think Hazard is clearly the better player.

It’s nothing against Son, I love the fella and thinks he’s a great player for us. I just think Hazard is something else. (Chelsea c**t yes, but you know what I mean)

kin'ell there ain't much in it.. Hazard starts all his games and Sonny is off the bench for some of his.

Those are like goal scoring stats though, and you have to admit that Son has played up front much more than Hazard has this year.

Interestingly, Son is in better form right now so he could even improve on that in the weeks ahead.

It's playing the percentages though. It only takes one or two timed runs and he is away. Leicester was a prime example although he was in his own half.

If 10 runs you may get offside six or seven which is fine if the other three or four work out.

I don't disagree but it's certainly one of the weaker points of his game and something he needs to improve on.

In about a quarter of his games or less as a false nine. Son’s been playing up top for pretty much the whole season.

Edit: just checked. Six times he’s played this season as a CF according to transfermarkt, however reliable that is? I actually think it’s slightly more than that.

At risk of extending a pretty tedious argument, but wanting to have my say anyway (because I’m worth it), I think ‘better’ has to have at least two distinct meanings here.

The first is ‘more effective’ and the second would be ‘talented’ or something similar. If you don’t distinguish between these, the argument is always going to be a mess.

For my part, Son is a highly effective player for us, and lately, I’d argue, more effective than Hazard has been for them.

On talent, however, I have to say that Hazard is on a different level. Class is permanent, form is temporary, and all that.

Form wins games, though...
