Not that Andy Cole can really claim to be a pundit, but seriously, I hope they didn't pay him for this:

Cole said on Sky Sports about Son: “I think he is a quality player. He has proved it.”
The former striker added: “He is the unsung hero.”
"If he gets injured, there’s a problem,” added Cole.

I mean, FFS.

Son is an unsung hero: Check
If a key player at Spurs gets injured, it's a problem: Check

The only difference is the narrative has moved from Kane, to Alli and now to Son.

One day, someone will say - actually, Spurs have shown they can deal with injuries fairly well, and they are no different to pretty much any other side: take key players out and they won't be as good.

Until then we are subjected to nonsensical white noise from former players/sh*t pundits

He's just saying now he is a massively important player for us where a couple of years ago he wasn't.

Not sure why that should piss you off? He even mentions we've had son, kane, dele out etc... but have still done well.

Just another triggered Spurs fan inexplicably getting mad at a pundit for not actually saying anything wrong.

Or anything of interest. They just give a verbal statement that is equally known by any layman with a modicum of knowledge on football.

Ha!

I'm not getting 'triggered' or 'pissed off', it just struck me that, as ever, it was an incredibly bland statement without any proper thought. I said "I hope they don't pay him for this stuff".

How about I add the following to the start:

"I have nothing against Andy Cole in principle, and I want to be clear that this is not an indication of any outrage on my part. He is, of course, entitled to his opinion and I'm sure meant no offense.

That being said, I consider the following statement made to SkySports [INSERT QUOTE]...a little reductive in nature and not reflective of where we stand.

Still, I'm sure he's an alright guy and was probably making nothing more than an off the cuff comment to a reporter - these guys are hardly incentivised to go off the beaten track anyway, right guys? Yay for us, we're mega enlightened and unaffected by it all because we're above it, yay"

Would that be better? I'd hate not to seem totally balanced and deferential on an internet message board discussing some random pundit chatting about football, this is important stuff after all

Its not that Cole said anything wrong it is just that it is such a stupid remark as every team would suffer if there best players get injured it is just that these non spurs pundits have this delusion that spurs have no depth of squad and they would be the only team that would suffer if their star players were injured.
As in Kane has missed in total 18 premiership matches of which we have won14. drawn3. lost1.
far from having suffered that is title winning figures.
As I say non spurs pundits are suffering some kind of denial that makes there statements on spurs facts completely false either thru ignorance or lack of knowledge or lack of research.
I must say that I do not include the three ladies I have seen recently acting as pundits as they seem well informed and with a wide range of knowledge on football facts along with having done their research.
It puts the sky pundits to shame who only spout their perception of things without correct facts.
Example some one was saying that spurs were lucky with injuries compared to Liverpool and the lady present stated that at that time
"spurs had lost 154 days to injury where as Liverpool had lost 46 days to injuries " and since that statement we lost in a few days Son to Asia games Kane injured. Dele injured. Davies injured.
As I say they speak without the true facts and just there own perception of the facts.
I am warming to the lady pundits as they seem to be able to comment without showing there own bias as in what is there favourite club.

They actually mentioned that we have been without key players including son and have done well. His meaning wasn't that we can't cope without son, it was that son has become a massive player for us.

I was just sitting here pondering

Is son a better player than hazzard ? Not sure if it's been discussed :sneaky:

Was thinking exact same thing other day.

He scores more goals and more of a team player, less ego.

I wouldn’t swap him for Hazard so maybe there’s the answer.

Because I’m a sad twat I recorded Sunday Supplement last time out to see the discussion on our dismantling of the runaway leaders of the Bundersilga in the Champions League. So watched it tonight- not one comment; plenty of shit on Özil, Utd in the CL and OGS’s chance of a the Utd job(long yawn) plus Declan naffing Rice but absolutely not one word on us! Should I be surprised?

Going off rail here but that female lines(wo)man, I've yet to see her get a decision wrong!
Puts those other useless fks to shame.

Maybe I haven't seen it coz I'm looking at her arse but I think she is doing a great job. Pressure on her is fookin mahoosive.

Stopped watching that ages ago. Something irks me about the whole format of that show, like they're all up themselves.

Starting this thread just to say I cannot stand Jamie Redknap’s half time Spurs analysis. He is an ex player who I do not count as one of our own. What do other Spurs fans think? Are there any other ex-Spurs players that people think are poor at being Spurs Biased Pundit.

Quick rule of thumb for SC to keep this one brief:

  • Says nice things about Spurs regardless of insight= Good pundit
  • If ever says critical things about Spurs even if correct= Bad pundit, possibly on drugs or holding a grudge
