He makes it sound as though we've just started to play from the back in order to copy City. So either he hasn't been watching us since Poch took over or he's another 'journalist' prepared to ignore the facts for the sake of his 'story'. Either way, it's a crap article.

He also praises Lloris’s kicking

Watching the dinosaurs on soccer Saturday reminds me why I don’t watch it anymore.

My main problem with non-spurs pundits is that they obviously don’t watch our games in full on any kind of regular basis and therefore pick up on something irrelevant and make it sound like it’s a major issue for us. Soccer Saturday, MOTD etc - only the ex Spurs properly look into how we’re doing and not basing it all on a 3 minute highlight reel. Same with most clubs but the difference is that most of the big clubs have lots of pundits representing them.

Merson and Nicholas were taking the piss out of Lamela. They were just talking over Phil Thompson while he was praising him and saying to each other ‘he’s a Tottenham player’ and shrugging their shoulders as if to say that’s all he is, typical flashy but no substance type thing, like he’s still talking about 90’s Spurs. Absolutely clueless about his work rate and creative play because they don’t watch the games and they’re loving the fact that all isn’t rosy at Spurs.

Then Merson says why bother playing a full strength team against City because we’re not gonna win the league so play a full strength team against West Ham instead and go for the cup. When it was pointed out we’d go above City if we beat them, he just shrugged it off and said ‘well they ain’t gonna win the league with that squad are they, what’s the point’.

He’s not the only **** there. The joint biggest one yes but they’re all dicks aside from Macinally, who actually pulled Merson up on his ‘well he’s a Tottenham player’ comment.

They actually said we’d miss lloris. Clearly not realising he got sent off in CL not PL pathetically embarrassing.

I haven’t watched it for a couple of years. The BT one is better.

Funny I actually thought I’d look up Charlie Nicholas career stats. For all his pompous I know everything he won 1 league cup his entire career. And as a striker scored 34 league goals for Arsenal in over 150 games. Where Kane is on 113 in about same games lol.

Mcinlaly is even better constantly talking about Bayern as if he’s a club legend. Played 40 games over 4 years and scored 10 goals as a striker.

Even though he’s bloody annoying when it comes to Liverpool at least Tommo has 7 titles and x3 European cups.

These people make a living stirring up "problems" in their shows.
If we win on monday we will go past City on the table. And having our best PL start ever.
What will they say then?

I can also see that we are not at our best these days. But I honestly belive we will turn things around soon.

Sky are hideous. Their coverage of football thesedays is like watching The Sun newspaper on film.
Dated, self entitled, ignorant and arrogant.

Soccer Saturday has been due for a massive overhaul for almost a decade now. Charlie Nicholas is a complete wanker. I’d happily buy Merson a drink, only to get the prick back off the wagon.

Merson is a c**t and a self confessed Chelsea fan. But Nicholas really is slappable. Why the fuck does he always have to tell us he's an Arsenal fan when everybody knows he's nothing of the sort. He may have played for them, but he's a Celtic boy through and through. So, the question has to be asked... is every player a 'fan' of all the clubs he may have played for? Utter bollocks.

And I'm sitting there thinking he'd played more games for arsenal.

Yeah was really shocked. I think he became famous just as much for his playboy antics than anything he actually did on the pitch.
As I remember the story, he was just another promising young player who couldn't live up to his billing or his price-tag.

I can't believe Soccer Saturday still has the exact same people on that they had when i lived in the UK, and I moved 8 years ago.

At any other channel or in any other show they'd all have been moved on to let younger voices in years ago.

Harry Redknapp would be great on Soccer Saturday instead of Charlie Gooner.

I'd be interested in what the viewing figures are for soccer saturday from 3pm onwards.

With every game now available through multiple streams they don't have the gap in the market that made the show such a hit in the first decade or so. In public buildings (pubs, barbers, even work ) people stick it on in the background but I do think the day will come soon where the antiquated football broadcast blackout rule at 3pm is lifted.

I suspect ceefax would get higher viewing figures if it still existed....... And be a far more entertaining show!
