Tiredness hadn't even come to my mind to be honest. Even against United, there's no way we were tired in the first half, that's ridiculous to me, the only thing it looked like was that we were incredibly disjointed, and lacked any cohesion. I think we're quite slow starters anyway, especially at 'home'.

Away to Watford I don't think we were great at all in the first half, but had we gone in 1-0 up it wouldn't have been that we looked shit and managed to snatch a goal, it would have looked like a pretty solid containing half of football against decent team at a tough ground. Once we scored the game completely changed and Watford had to attack and found themselves to be getting much more success in doing so than even they maybe envisioned, like as if they'd given us too much respect in the first half. I definitely wouldn't have put it down to overall tiredness, just think we badly needed a change of personnel or shape to disrupt what was happening but we just stayed the same and let it continue.

Said that Lucas was our best player on Monday, which can't really be argued.
I don't think that was a fitness thing though, it was more a tactical thing. If it was fitness he'd have run the show on Sunday as well.
Much as I don't like Merson, I think both of them make reasonable points.
Bellamy - 9 players involved in WC Semi finals, no proper break, no pre-season
Merson - We do seem to have a mentality problem sometimes. We rarely come flying out of the traps and dominate from the start. We have a tendency to wait until 2nd half.

when we play with our propper intensity we are a different side just like the 3-1 victory over City at the lane and 4-1 against liverpool but we rarely play like that anymore

Last seen was the 2-0 and 1-0 wins against Utd and Arsenal last season I think.

No disrespect to Watford, but going ahead against such teams and not adding on the pressure but being pegged back and lost was a lack of mentality for me. We could have gone top of table and yet we blew that chance again ffs..
on the other hand we did beat Man Utd 0-3 at Old Trafford

Didn't Merson say early on that we were lucky as Man Utd should have had a penalty in the first half...think he needs to reevaluate his prescription in those spectacles of his.

The pundits like Merson Souness Smith Carrager Thompson Groves Redknapp and the rest of the Liverpool Arsenal mob have not got the nous to take tribalism out of their comments.
As much as they try to come across as fair and unbiased they fail dismally and that is why the likes of Bellamy and Letissier to me come across as fair and balanced.
The best example I can give is the other night Bellamy showed up Merson for what he is which is pro arsenal and anti spurs; when he got himself so wound up he said that United should have had a penalty when anybody can tell you it was Moura who was fouled in the box .
In his attempts to show his point of view he either forgot or lied to make his point ;that being that spurs are rubbish .
They nearly always say ('I really rate spurs but'}this comment is meant to show they are unbiased when in reality even us simple spurs fans can see the tribalism is still there ; they just can't help themselves.

Generally agree, but I think Souness is pretty fair and Carragher, despite being blatantly pro Liverpool, is complimentary about Spurs.

Souness has given spurs the odd plaudit but in general he is quite derogatory about spurs to the point where he looks down his nose at us . If we beat Man Unt away he is almost forced to say something positive but we lose to Watford and he slates us to the extreme this result was manna from the gods as far as Souness is concerned.Make no mistake this man only but only has time for Liverpool

Did you watch 'The Debate' clip?

Merson said some very complimentary things about us, and actually likes our team. He said that on numerous occasions, he may have got some things incorrect as he is not the sharpest tool. But there is no Arsenal bias, he is actually a chav fan, and knocks both of those teams on a regular basis.

We need to stop with this 'Media/pundits against us' malarky as it makes us look small time. Or RAWKY

Dear oh dear you will believing in fairies next if you can't see that these media people are anti spurs then you are being fooled big time there comments are always said with a "but' namely its these people that are using the narrative of "spurs do not have a deep enough squad" and "what will happen if they get injuries" and what if such and such player wants out"also"I think Poch will leave if Madrid come in for him" forgetting he has already according to blague turned them down not forgetting "if they don't pay big wages the top players will want out"
This is the narrative used by these people always when talking about spurs ;forgetting conveniently that the same applies to Arsenal and Liverpool .
I tell you there is an agenda and you must look behind the crumbs of praise given by these biased muppets

Every single set of fans think there's media bias against them, it's absolute nonsense.

Well just as some believe the media is fair and impartial I am among the idiots that can see there is an hidden agenda when it comes to spurs and I will tell you this that when the likes of Souness and Merson are on a match day panel if you can show me anytime they do not bring out one of the following "Poch will leave for Madrid" "Kane will move if we don't win a trophy this year" "The squad is not deep enough" "when they get injuries they will fall away" " The loss at Watford proves they cannot win ugly" if they can get thru any programme without using one of these phrases I will concede to people that believe the Liverpool and Arsenal mob that work mainly for sky are impartial .

This is it partly. We didn’t play well Sunday, but we took the lead. We should have rolled our sleeves up and ground out the rest of the game for the win. We didn’t, so that could be our lack of mentality. Or it could be tiredness due to the World Cup.

The truth is probably somewhere between the two. The reality is that I was gutterd we lost, but this is still out best start under Poch and we never ever really get going until November. Liverpool alwYs have fast starts but fade. City will still be the team to beat...but the curve ball is Chelsea who I believe have improved the most from last season based on very few games so far.

The biggest Liverpool fan forum is called Red and White Kop, abbreviated RAWK, and the people on there frequently believe and promote outlandish conspiratorial theories about the world being against Liverpool.

So when people on here post "the media is against us" and such, they will be compared to the aforementioned Liverpool fans.
