I just have no emotion towards City, still feel like a soulless and almost plastic club to me. The fact that they have one up on everyone else in the league anyway with the ridiculous money they've spent on their squad, I really couldn't care less when things like this happen to them.

This is what I find ridiculous about a team like City. As has been said a thousand times, prior to the injection of near unlimited funds by a horrible regime into their club, they struggled almost continuously as did we for quite a while. Now that they are a decade deep in cash, many of their fans act like almost every other club is beneath them. I read yesterday one of them suggesting they should move leagues as the EPL is corrupt! Absolutely delusional.

Anyway, you take your chances and sometimes the Gods are against you and that’s just the way it goes. We’ve lost a ton of matches that we shouldn’t have due to referee decisions. In this case by the letter of the law, the decision and ultimate end result was correct.

Reuters top news posted a story entitled 'VAR controversy denies City victory' - suppose saying correct decision made after correct application of the latest rules isn't very sexy.
Not only is it not very sexy, but, more to the point, it doesn't get so many clicks.

Tool my lad to his first Spurs game yesterday - he's 7. Couldn't get in the away end so got 2 gen sale tickets together in the city end.

My observations:

Their fans absolutely hate us. The amount of venom from them about us being a little club who've never won anything was astounding. The fact that the only reason they are where they are is because of corrupt massive investment they totally ignore.

They hate Harry Kane. The amount of people calling him a spastic, mong etc was disgusting.

They think they're owed something. Now I hate Liverpool, but seriously after sitting in their end yesterday I hate city more. Plus their fans are awful in terms of atmosphere.

That said they were all saying how good they thought KWP played and what a great future he has.

When they scored at the end we went so we could get back to the station. Heard shit loads of sirens so guessed it was kicking off. Didn't realise it had been ruled out because of VAR until I checked on the train!

Really glad we left just before the end and my lad didn't have to see any violence though.

All in all a really huge point for us.

I know they were upset by VAR but I didn't realise they'd called the Police.

Agree with most of that but before the money they struggled far worse than we did, they were a shambles of a club

They are a bunch of manc northern wankers and they hate the fact we always get something against them. We had a slight blip for a few years where City regularly thrashed us, but in general we always manage to either give them a good game or get something. How ironic they talk about trophies like they have earned them. Bankrolled by a horrible regime and for the nerve to talk about being hard done by. I’m starting to depise them, they are just so bitter. ****s!!!!!!!

I think City fans arrogance fueled delusion is driven by the media and the way they portray City, just as they do/ have done with Arse, Man Ure, Chavs and Liverpoop! We'll never be spoken about the way these lot are!

Probably because we haven't won anything of note in decades.

I don't think it would be any different if we'd won the PL instead of Leicester the other year, they rarely get a mention and their football is never spoken of in gushing sycophantic terms no matter how good it is.

There is a thread on FTL talking about quite a lot of trouble after the match. City fans waiting outside (Maybe that's what he means by Grey Mar Lane?), Police unprepared, City fans attacking men, women and children.

One post:
They were there but they were massively caught by surprise by the numbers city had and the fact that they were really wanting to attack us. As we came out of the away end we were pretty much ambushed. As we walked further along the road the situation got worse as the city fans were trying hard to break through the police. We were in-between a them and a fence and had they broke through we were in the shit to be honest. We managed to get out of the bottle neck eventually but the atmosphere was really toxic everywhere.

Back in the station it all kicked off again.

City fans were scum, they were targeting anything they could get to and it didn't matter if you had no interest in fighting them or not.

I think our fans will remember today when they come to WHL.
I'm really not for any kind of violence but their fans will get slapped all over the High Road when they visit Tottenham next time.

I dont think city actually get the lions share of praise. Any they do get, is well deserved imo. Regardless of how they got there.

Indeed - we weren't shafted down to Division Two. At that time, we were a bit turdy but we won the Worthington's that same season.

What on earth makes you think Reuters gives a shit about clicks?

The author of the article might not but the person who rights the headlines job is to grab as much attention as possible.

If we are going to lose, it should be on the basis of fairness. I’ll happily live or die (metaphorically speaking, of course) by VAR working for or against us. If we score a goal and it’s disallowed because technology is able to find an infringement, then fine- it’s frustrating but fair.

If we lose a game because a key decision goes against us and it isn’t fair, that’s infinitely worse because it’s not fair. VAR should eliminate this outcome, but it’ll probably need a little time to fine tune itself.
To be fair the CL final penalty was an absolute horrendous decision using VAR

Danny Kelly made a really good point yesterday. After the Llorente goal last season guardiola complained that they need to update the laws to stop this kind of goal. Ironic that now that very rule he was asking for has gone against him he’s moaning to change it back. Tit
