I remember when you signed up. Wasn't it to say something normal so they didn't think all Spurs fans were like Glaston or something?
Nah just needed a place to still chat football but not have everything through Spurs goggles.

See, I can see the thinking behind Glaston, he's obviously on a wind up and gets a kick out of rubbing them up the wrong way, I get that.

But the self-loathing ones, desperate to be accepted like the other other fella you mention are just odd, I think it suggests deeper personality issues.

Suggests he's been hounded out of Spurs forums for being such a negative twat, and has had to take his twatishness elsewhere.

Eh. Every club seems to have a problem with us for one reason or another. Been this way for a while now.
Maybe that’s what it’s like in the states but I have friends who support many clubs and attend those clubs matches, and apart from the other London sides I don’t experience any particular antipathy towards us. Even clubs like Bournemouth, Newcastle, Leeds, Villa, Derby, as well as, of course, the two Manchester clubs and Liverpool clubs, and on the whole there’s no massive ill will towards us compared to other clubs. Many are in fact very complimentary due to our England internationals, usually good football and lack of financial doping. I’ve only experienced particularly consistent anti Spurs feeling from Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham fans, and oddly, Southampton.

Real life people aren’t like the loud minority who go overboard on message boards.

We unfortunately had to spend 1bn on a new stadium , you were given a new stadium ,and with the wealth or the Sheik could buy players . I’m a fan and can’t understand why our chairman Joe Lewis at 80+ with a fortune of 6bn , doesn’t just pay for the stadium and another 1bn for players , but that’s he difference between a real fan and a businessman .
We have done well with limited means , I don’t understand why City fans don’t accept we are batting well above our station and give us more credit

That Wotspur doesn't seem to understand how football finances or obscenely wealth people's minds work

No one really likes us because we aren't the same as them.

Liverpool and UTD are the old money brigade; they've got more history than everyone else and turn their noses up at the rest. Nobody can take away their history, they know it and have that air of invincibility about them. Sure Liverpool flirted with the commoners for a bit, but it was charity work.

Then there are the new money clubs; City and Chelsea have bought their way into the elite and despite the old money clubs finding it all so gauche, they can't argue with the results that have been achieved. Then there is Arsenal, the once well to do family who had connections to the top. They've fallen on hard times but are still respected for what they once were and what their kindly grandfather brought to the party.

We are none of the above. We are born of common stock, working hard to make our way up to the top table. We've still got mud on our boots and my how they hate it. Lord Neville of Manchester still remembers when he could laugh at our house and watch as we'd scrabble through the dirt chasing the farthing Neville tossed from his carriage.

The lot of them are desperate to see us fall to pieces. They comment on our European exploits, bless us for making it to the continent after so long. Did we try the local produce? They congratulate us on failing as it helps to cement in their mind that we are after all of lower standing no matter how we are trending.

As for the rest. They look on with hate and envy. How dare we rise above our station? We should be back with them in the cheap seats bemoaning the nobility and the futility of life, not trying to make a go of it ourselves.

Also doesn't understand that of that $6bn, $1.5bn is spurs and $4bn is his other businesses. He doesn't have it in cash unless he sells everything (abramovich sold sibneft).

From Blue Moon. There's a poll at the top of the thread and 88 percent predict a win. 8 draw and 4 defeat. There are also quite a few Spurs fans commenting.

Do you truly think that Sheikh Manour still buys Manchester City's players? That was the case in 2008 when City were taken over but now City operate on the exact same commerical basis as any other football club. In fact City generate massive revenues because of footballing success. Imagine the impact of a domestic treble. I bet Spurs enjoyed a huge increase income on the back of CL success? Well City have been in CL Q/F for years now, and have won trophy after trophy...

this bloke might be right about what they do now buying players, but it took them 4½ years of ownership to win the League for the 1st time, and 3 to get their 1st trophy. to win their 1st trophy they spent just over 400m, and just short of 500m before their 1st PL win. it also took them 3 years to qualify for the CL, so they where running off of the massive sponsor naming rights deal, which I'm sure the Sheik or 1 of his family own anyway. they have won the PL 4 times, which is their biggest cash cow, 2 FA Cups and 4 league cups in 11 years.

the club has spent a total £1,276,551,000 bringing players in

Buys: £1,276,551,000
Sold: £338,710,000
Nett: £937,784,100

I wonder if someone wants to let him know their trophy haul in prizes doesn't add up anywhere near that total net spend. that spend doesn't take into account what they have spent on the youth development, and the obscene wages they have been paying players and managers for 11 seasons, or the cost of sacking managers.

It’s somewhat similar to Liverpool fans acting like their ownership weren’t dipping into their own pockets to make purchases and would just say it was all funded from Coutinho. As if one Coutinho sale helped them spend 60 million each on Allison and Keita, 40 million on Fabinho, 75 on VVD, 40 on Salah, and 35 on Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Of course now the tune has changed after they made essentially no signings this summer.

I've no problem with the Liverpool model. 20 months ago when they bought VVD I said they "smelled of ambition" and was roasted for that view. At that stage we had a superior squad and were finishing comfortably above them. They've gone on to win two trophies.

We finally in our stadium and have invested in some players and hopefully the points gap won't be as large this season. I don't believe we need to spend vast sums of money we just need to build on what we did this season on player incomings in the next 2 transfer windows. Obviously looking at opportunity signings in January and replacing Eriksen if he does not stay.

Well considering the football leaks information, about the Sheikh paying over half of certain inflated sponsorship deals from his own pocket, then yes, that's exactly what is happening, you blinkered Manc twat.

Not forgetting the money redirected from their other clubs around the world and funelled into City!! Very smelly indeed!!

If they don't like us because we are better than we used to be they are really going to hate us over the next few years. After completing the stadium we went out and bought all the players our manager asked for in this window so perhaps they ought to be scared.
