I used to go in the "Vol" for years when I lived in Manor House. Two of my best mates lived opposite the "Vol", we'd have a few in there then go to the Club Eltons after , happy happy days

From Blue Moon. There's a poll at the top of the thread and 88 percent predict a win. 8 draw and 4 defeat. There are also quite a few Spurs fans commenting.

This is going to be a strong first test. The game will hinge on whether City or Spurs dominate the flanks, and how City stop Spurs from using their bigger size and power and dominating the middle of the field. Aguero vs Kane? I fancy us there. Ederson vs Lloris? Not a competition. The ONLY place where there is a serious competition is in midfield, which means funneling the ball OUT of the middle of the park and into the channels and down the wings as quickly as possible.

Going to be a difficult game. Spurs are going to be a challenger this season. They are one of the few sides who are capable of beating us at our place. In fact anyone is given freak circumstances, but SPurs have a small but significant chance because they have quality and can defend a lead.

We unfortunately had to spend 1bn on a new stadium , you were given a new stadium ,and with the wealth or the Sheik could buy players . I’m a fan and can’t understand why our chairman Joe Lewis at 80+ with a fortune of 6bn , doesn’t just pay for the stadium and another 1bn for players , but that’s he difference between a real fan and a businessman .
We have done well with limited means , I don’t understand why City fans don’t accept we are batting well above our station and give us more credit

Man City benefited when we moved from Maine Rd to our current ground. It was a great move for the club and very exciting to go from a ground that was dated and had been gradually reduced in capacity, but you forget that this move from Maine Rd to an athletics stadium was highly technical and required a lot of forethought and planning. The bottom tiers of the stadium were buried during the construction of the Athletics stadium. I don't know all the details, but is held up as an example for stadium construction any time an Athletics stadium is constructed and then passed over to football.

City paid for the conversion and also paid for the later extension of the South Stand which added 7,500 seats.

Do you truly think that Sheikh Manour still buys Manchester City's players? That was the case in 2008 when City were taken over but now City operate on the exact same commerical basis as any other football club. In fact City generate massive revenues because of footballing success. Imagine the impact of a domestic treble. I bet Spurs enjoyed a huge increase income on the back of CL success? Well City have been in CL Q/F for years now, and have won trophy after trophy...

Why don't you think City fans give you credit? I do, but I do not regard you as morally superior because you've achieved your success through limited transfer spending.

I think we are going to batter you. And by that I mean we are going to try and outmuscle you in midfield, overwhelm you with our physicality or, in other words, try to kick you off the park. That is what Sissoko and Ndombele are there for. And i won't be surprised to see our nasty, snidey, little shit Lamela playing too. (Sadly Alli won't be fit enough to really piss you off with his cheating cocky ways).

We are not West Ham. We can play. And we will want to play in your half and we think we can win. Maybe this our year to beat you. We'll need a bit of luck but it is possible.

And you are right. It is a proper test for Rodri. Lets see how good he is.
JPBB has gone full cockney. Never go full cockney :)

Seriously? Kick us off the park? What happened when Mané karate kicked our keeper into hospital? What happened when Alli and Kane put their studs into 2 of our players?

Please, please “play in our half” it will be playing right into our hands.

Still no trophies under Poch? However you do have one unbelievable achievement, to be the most hated club in a city with Milwall and Arsenal in it takes some fucking doing. Out muscle us eh, in the same way you were going to out point us in the Premier league last Feb/March? How do that end Arse Wipe? 28 points behind lol. You have as much chance of winning the premier league as Crystal Palace, fucking none, bridesmaids

Well considering the football leaks information, about the Sheikh paying over half of certain inflated sponsorship deals from his own pocket, then yes, that's exactly what is happening, you blinkered Manc twat.

So are we hated now as a club (reference to the comment above from BlueMoon)?

I personally haven't experienced this view, but I can understand how the other members of the 'Top 6' have to deal with us now as a very real threat, as opposed to the 'Spursy' sides of the past.

Eh. Every club seems to have a problem with us for one reason or another. Been this way for a while now.

Says the guy with 4000 posts on an internet forum

Completely missing the point as usual Daniel. Signing up to a Man Utd forum to show them that not all spurs fans are dicks is in my opinion quite tragic. It’s akin to doing the cool kids homework so that he lets you hang around and basque in his reflected glory.

Oh and I’m fully aware that posting 4K messages on a football forum albeit that of a team that I support is rather sad as has been pointed out to me several times by current and ex girlfriends alike.
