I think Spurs will put a first team out, CPL on hold til February, no trophies in the locker for a while and no chance of winning the PL. In an ideal world we would win 1_0 against an under strength Spurs and face Utd at home in round 4! I know we have had good times against big opponents in the past but I just don't think we are not cut out for this one, they have pace and sublime ability in buckets all over the pitch, I reckon there goalie is a better playmaker than any of our midfield! I don't think we have ever seen seen a team such as this grace the pitch at PP and hopefully will be a great day.

First team ??
Fair few of them interested in the money it will generate for them ... hoping they can somehow get a replay at Wembley

Good luck to Spurs they will need it to bypass Steeeve and the absolute colossus that is Manny Monthe. Need to defend for their lives, like the Lincoln game but 100 times more.

Spurs not takeing there cut ????? you must be kidding me .the days of the bigger clubs helping the smaller clubs are long gone .they grab every penny they can get lets face it howvels are they gonna pay for all the over seas premadonnas they buy .

Can't see spurs putting out the 1st team, usual bit part players with the stars on the bench if needed. Will be great to see internationals gracing the fields of PP. Will be a brilliant night can't wait, don't care about the result, we have nothing to lose, fluke a draw would be the best I would expect with a replay at the new ground.

think spurs will put out a decent looking side as they will be looking at thisvas best hope of silverwear this season .as league think is liverpool or man city .champions league not much chance there . But saying that we could grab a replay and back to wembley then that will make it 9 times the rovers played there .not many clubs can say that .

Looks like Spurs will have to get used to big speculation about their manager for the next six months. Might unsettle their season altogether. Not sure it'll do much to help us get a result against them, mind!

Tottenham will not be willing to share any profits they obtain from the FA Cup tie with Tranmere. If they were to do such a thing, it would be considerably more difficult for them to finance the purchase of any potential new players that have reached a suitably high professional standard, but were born outside of England.

I think You and Ribery would get on swimmingly

Yeah big clubs never help out lower league football. Like that time we dastardly twiddled our villainous moustache as we gave our evil old turnstiles to Welwyn Garden City FC, Haringey Borough FC, Sun Sports FC free of charge along with donations from our old ground to Cheshunt and Hadley Town. That'll learn 'em! I bet we did that cartoonish villain creep walk as we left with a hearty muahahahaha too!

Also the FA will NOT ALLOW premiership clubs to give the gate money to a lower league club.

They stopped Arsenal last season against Sutton and as I recall we couldn't either so actually laid an entire new pitch for someone instead as a contribution to the charity?

FA have stupid rules. That money could help keep clubs afloat, hardly going to make much dent to us.

The fa wont allow prem clubs to give smaller clubs money directly that can be used to buy players. As this can distort competition etc... and is unfair to other teams in that league. That's why arsenal said they would pay for their new pitch.

Which means that the club receiving the pitch doesn't have to spend its own money on it.......which means that it can use that money to buy and/or pay players.....which distorts the competition.....which is unfair to other teams in the league.

Same shit, different wrapper.

True. Some of the permier league tv money goes to the smaller leagues and they will get their share of the tv money for the game.

Yeah we should stop forking out the big money for those pre-madonnas, and focus on recruiting some pre-maradonas. Face it, Howvels, whoever you are.

For those who are, ah, a bit confused by the hilarity:

"prima donnas"

Literally, "first ladies".

Primary meaning: "the chief female singer in an opera or opera company"

Secondary meaning: "a very temperamental person with an inflated view of their own talent or importance."

Nothing to do with madonnas. Nor Madonna.

If you have to explain a joke it doesn't work.
