This comment caused me to go digging to see what kind of imbecile would mention Carroll and Ings in the same breath as Kane.

Turns out, it's this sort of imbecile:

Their own fans are calling out this idiot, so my job here is redundant. His delusion goes pages back but here's a good starting point:

He's right though isn't he? What has Kane actually done? He's just a 5 season wonder and England captain. Compare that to Ings and Carroll and he's found his level.

When you phrase it that way, I must concede I was wrong. Kane is average as he doesn't score 40 goals every season, but Salah is world class because he did it once.

The Kane is dead. Long live the Ings.

What the fuckity fuck is this fucking idiot fucking rambling on about? Fuck.
He has joined Shearer, Aguero and Henry as the only players to score over 20 goals 3 season in a row hasn’t he? He is also a PL and WC golden boot winner, has scored against all 28 Premier League teams he has faced and has scored at almost a 1 in 2 in the CL. Let’s also not forget he is already on 14 in the league for this season so could make it 20+ goals 4 seasons in a row.

Absolute spunk trumpets

Yeah, but apart from that, what has he EVER done?

Just spent my lunch reading that thread. Can I get that hour back? The ones who only claim Kane is nothing more than just a poacher and goal scorer (a very good one mind) is laughable. Those Spurs fans on there are telling them the truth that had they watched Kane consistently they'd see his all round game, including hold up play and passing. He brings the full backs and wide men into play so often (Trippier v Chelsea on Tuesday an example).

Well done @Hakkz for actually being on topic!!

A few more bits from the Redcafe match thread for Sunday:

I think the only way we would get in trouble is an early Spurs lead, then our boys may start thinking to much ("Wait maybe we are not that good at all").
If we score first and keep calm, i think we should win this one easily. Also one week of rehab, fun, sun, smiling, teambuilding and tactic work while Spurs had to play midweek. We have to take that advantage.

-

Is it just me feeling this excitement? Feels like a cup final!

I literally keep checking time and date for this match to happen. Can't wait to see our lads tested by the "mighty" Tottenham.

-

Kanes’s ability to drop deep and find the runners going beyond him is very difficult to deal with, he really is a complete CF. Highly doubt we’d be able to keep a clean sheet so hopefully we’ll out score them.

-

That midfield of Winks and Sissoko is poor with Skip some academy youngster as backup. Not top four material.

If we can dominate that midfield area we can control possession. Then just have to take our opportunities.

-

I think Pogba will be up to the level and he's showing finally how good he is, he will boss the match and we all know the result in such cases.

They also have a thread about our new stadium too and are happily taking the piss!

I guess March makes sense. Everybody knows it’s the best month for cheese.

They really are the new Liverpool, guess all glory hunters are the same deep down.

The arrogance of them. Yeah they're playing better (wouldn't be hard) and have blown away the mighty Fulham, Cardiff and Huddersfield but fuck me, some of them claiming they should win easily.

I expected them to be more confident but oh no, its the jump to sheer delusion that gets me.

On what planet is this an' easy' game for them?!..

Hope we really smash them now.

You think Poch set us up to camp in our own third at home and create no chances in a cup semi final? Ingenious.

Chelsea never looked like scoring because they had no striker, Ross Barkley confusing the moon for the goal, an ineffective Willian and a raw young winger with 1 goal to his name. Hazard can't do it all himself. Sure we defended well but Sarri did a number on us tactically and against a team with some goalscorers we would've been lucky to draw, let alone win.
hang on , no chances. So i must have imagined those shots on target and kepa having to take down Kane and also make an epic save.

This is just the internet. Every UTD fan I know are exactly as you say, more confident than they would’ve been under Jose but they know we’re the better side and are expecting a really tough game. The 3 I know at work all said they’d take a draw now if offered without hesitation.

It’s like most of my Liverpool mates. All are bricking it and are playing down the title talk.

hmmm Kane or Lukaku. Lets see

Lukakau Everton+Manure 162 apps.77 goals.
Kane Tottenham 171 apps 122 goals....

Kane every time for me.

Salah? 198apps from joining Basel...91 goals.

nope still Kane.... The bottom line is Kanes a goal machine.

aah but rashfords the 2nd coming isnt he? Lets check that, Kane scored 31 in 51 games that same-age season. Rashford coming close to that? Nope.

Nope still Kane.

At Kane's age, many great players have already done something special in their career, like Suarez inspiring Liverpool to the league and been rewarded with a move to a club where he confirmed his level and won multiple trophies
Hmmm, must have missed that one...

A few more extracts from RedCafe though it's all a bit random in there. Their threads get derailed as often as those on here!

"I believe that with our defence at the moment the only way to play is attack and try to stop Spurs pushing forward"

"I am a bit worried about Kane, and somehow about Son and Eriksen but less about Alli recently, I think his form is somewhat down."

"I have a horrible feeling we will lose... quite convincingly. We should not forget the amount of work left to be done and the distance between where we are and where we should be."

"Martial is much more naturally gifted than Kane " LOL

"Martial has great potential and is a good player, but simply not on Kane's level yet. A better comparison for Martial from Spurs is Son."

"tell me what has Kane achieved to be world class? Kane had a season where he managed 40 goals, it was an anomaly season like the ones Carrol and Ings had in their career. Don't know what's bizarre their. "

"If the team runs more, and hardworking than Spurs, i believe we can beat them. Not counting on flair, but we got players with better flair than them."

"Putting Spurs in the same Bracket as City is disingenuous in my opinion. There are so many factors that put City at a level above Tottenham, basically every way to assess a football team. Creating chances, preventing chances, starting eleven quality, squad depth, manager quality, league table, goal difference.

I'm struggling to think of anywhere where Spurs can actually beat City, it's arguable whether your best player even gets into their team, that's how stacked their team is. This is a city team without their own best player by the way, a fit and firing De Bruyne will probably be what wins them the title if they do win it, they are unstoppable with him in the team. "

"Honestly mate, look yourself in the mirror. Your posts are utterly embarassing. Are you the same bloke who has been arguing that Lukuku is as good as Kane in the Lukuku thread? "

"Spurs vs United vs Mike Dean. Epic Threesome."

Please tell me Mike Dean isn’t the ref on Sunday ?☹️?☹️

Edit: just checked and he is. Just when we needed a favourable ref we get the opposite.
