Will you lot STFU about who we aren’t playing in the final! Your comments will be rammed down you’re throats if we fail to get past Ajax.
I'm looking forward to us beating whoever wins the Intercontinental Cup, we'll do em!

I’d take either Liverpool or Barca if it meant we get past Ajax in the semis.. I think the big thing will be the first game is at home again, we’ll have no Son, probably no Kane, so if we can stop them scoring and try to pinch a home goal advantage, we can go to Amsterdam and score. What an amazing sentence that I never thought I’d be writing out about us and the CL!! COYS!!

In all seriousness that pretty much typifies why the Sheik Mansour team struggle in Europe. They went from a nothing club straight to the top competition, without really understanding it.

Obviously the manager and players know the drill in Europe, but not as a collective. Throw a bunch of mercenaries together and they can win a normal match easily, but European football requires a very different attitude.

We’ve had years of evolving that familiarity with European games organically. Plus we just seem to be better at learning from our mistakes. The Sheik Mansour team should be buying every available trophy, but they can’t get it to work in the CL.

Anyway, one of the best things about getting to the last 4 is that they hit us with everything they’ve bought, and it wasn’t enough. Just makes victory even sweeter. David v Goliath stuff.

There is so much to be said of this. I said earlier in the season that a team who knows how to win the competition will win it. It’s very hard to beat those teams with such a history in it, it seems to pull them through the ties. Obviously I hope that’s going to change this year!

Back on topic then

Taken from "Blue Moon"

"Gutted. Knew Aguero was offside so not as gutted as I could have been. How have we conceded 3 to Spurs at home"

"Pretty bloody unlucky. Don't feel we deserved to go out there, and don't feel there can be much blame to the players - put in a hell of an effort. The first leg is what lost us this"

"Never forget that Aymeric Laporte single handedly costed you this entire thing by being at fault in not one, not two, but all three Tottenham goals. Goodnight".

"Can't even think right now....but the league has just got x100 more important. Hope Liverpool and Spurs both rot"

"How the fuck can Spurs celebrate that - do they not feel slightly embarrassed! ****s"

"If there was one trophy I wasnt arsed about this was it. Want the other three. And it wasnt handball at all. No where near as gutted as last season against liverpool, two bloody good teams played a good game tonight. No complaints"

"Fucking spuds in a CL final before us. Unbelievable. They’ll beat Ajax easily over two legs"

"Absolutely gutted, especially after thinking we'd won it. But the team gave everything. Yes we made mistakes but just have to go with that. Credit to spurs though they came out in first half with intent to score and did, then defended for their lives"

"Starting to worry that it's been 10 mins since it ended and heart rate still hasn't come back to a normal , is this normal"

Their fans seem fairly normal, imagine if it was Liverpool!

I wonder what they make of tomorrow. Hopefully the whole club and fan base are still distraught.

Even if we go out to Ajax, this is a great learning experience. Many of our players have now experienced playing knockout CL ties. They’ve also played several domestic semi-finals. It can’t fail to help.

will also mean teams won't be relegated due to bad decisions. Cardiff would be out of the bottom 3 today if VAR was in place

Not necessarily. Cardiff winner against Brighton in the home game came as a result of an equally ludicrous offside decision going their way.

Ajax are the bollocks this season. It's gonna be really tough to get past them. Let's put all this "I'd like to play x in the final" talk away and worry about the semi final first

Obviously Ajax are a good side having knocked out Madrid and Juventus but they are a young side and will be inconsistent. They are level on points with PSV at the top of their league who we have already beaten this season and looked much better than them in the 2 games we played.
It’s going to be tough no doubt but I would rather play them than either of Barca or Liverpool

So important not to concede an away goal even a 0-0 wouldn’t be that bad with son and kane missing

I think playing home first again is great for us. We can do again what we did the previous 2 rounds and then all the pressure is on the Home side 2nd leg. We arent perfect but I would back us to score almost every game so we know we can go to Ajax and get an away goal or 2.

Glad that we have the home leg first because I think Llorente is a much better option at home than away (despite his goal in Manchester). Then we can bring Son in for the second leg.

the thing is VAR worked last night, a European match, but stick English refs behind the screen and not sure it will make much difference, because the standard of refereeing has got so bad. Mark Hussley said Llorente goal shouldn't of stood, with refs like Mike Riley, Mike Dean or Howard Webb sitting behind a screen, and we are as fucked as normal

Clattenburg said that both var decisions were correct.

We have been lucky (of sorts) in that whenever we’ve had injuries to first teamers, the players who replaced them have stepped up to the plate - Sonny, Moura, Llorente, Winks & Sissoko to name the more regular ones.

I know some of the above would already be considered first teamers now but weren’t, not that long ago.

So I think, even despite our current injury list, the boys will give their best and would be willing to run themselves down to the ground to try and get to the final especially as we are so close to the biggest club prize of all.

Foyth, KWP and Skipp have also stepped up to varying degrees. They've all made mistakes but Foyth has also had a few MOTM performances and KWP was great last week against the mighty Huddersfield.

I agree. If we can get a clean sheet in the home leg and maybe nick a goal or two, we’d have a great chance to go through.

The fans at NWHL will have a big part to play too.

I concur. First & foremost = clean sheet at home. Achieve that & I'd fancy us against any side in the second leg.

We have a great away record in the last two years of CL and so as Son will be available I fancy our chances in the tie. My worry is that Ajax are reminiscent of Monaco two years ago with their no fear football. Everyone could see how City approached the quarter finals with fear
