Did anyone happen to listen to TalkSport tonight with Goldstein and Cundy (I know.....)

Anyway, a West Ham fan called Daniel called in and said that for the first time in a long time, West Ham have a superior squad than Spurs... and in particular, a superior bench with cover everywhere. They both said ‘superior? You know that means better don’t you’?

Cundy asked him to name West Ham’s bench and this guy stared stuttering and said ‘erm, well we have Andy Carroll’. Cundy asked who else and this guy literally couldn’t name one apart from ‘the skilful one from Brazil’ (who I assume is a starter anyway....). Then Goldstein asked who’s on Spurs’ bench. The guy tried to change the subject and when they wouldn’t let it go, he was saying things like ‘oof, now you’re asking’ and ‘well you’re putting me on the spot now’. They then said ‘well you said specifically that your bench is superior and that you’ve studied the benches, so we have to ask’. They wouldn’t leave it alone until the guy said ‘you’ve made a real mug of me ain’t ya’ ?

Honestly it was one of the most cringiest and funniest things I’d heard in a long time. Even (most) West Ham fans listening to that would’ve been completely embarrassed. I hate Cundy and I’m not overly keen on Goldstein but they completely schooled him and made him look like a right twat. His admission of failure in the end was a thing of beauty.

Prick.
Id love to hear this.

I think spurs will be fine. The only thing unhinged is the transfer craze that a large portion of the fans are goaded into by the scrupulous media. They have a very young squad and they have addressed their weaknesses in time by adding Sanchez and Moura. They could have used a budget option forward I guess, but other than that I just don't see these "glaring weaknesses" that everyone else is bleating about. Pochettino will actually have constant headaches over who to pick on the wing, now that Lamela has finally recovered.

They look like a solid, settled side.

Glaston is as humourless, relentless and strident as ever, but on the main point right.[\quote]
United fan sums up my feelings quite well.

You can almost pinpoint the beautiful moment when he realises he's being shown up as completely out of his depth.

Got to love such delusion from the Spam.

I heard a Spurs fan on Talkshit really letting our fan base down, going on about Levy should go his only thinking about his own pocket , went on about the catering contract at the new stadium being Levy's own company as proof of he own greed.

All because we didn't sign a players.

Lol the company is called levy catering (or something) but has nothing to do with him. Wonder how many people are actually fans that phone in and how many are ringers?

So you're saying that some callers are the analogue equivalent of Russian troll bots on Twitter who just want to stir up mayhem for the sake of it?

Interesting theory.

Wouldn't put it past talksport to have some people on the payroll who phone in to get people riled up so they phone in.

Nice one. It’s even funnier second time around. I forgot he managed to name Perez as well but the ‘young English midfielder that drifts in and out’ had me laughing out loud. You can just imagine them 2 doing the wanker sign to each other while he’s struggling to remember anything.

Belly laughs began here for me... "Ahh, you put me on the spot now...you really done me up like a kippah"

At the moment I don't know what they are saying, mainly because few people who know me want to converse. However, from experience it is normally better to get opinions from away supporters than our own supporters. Spurs supporters (or any supporters actually) tend to be far to bias, and are ridiculously optimistic. Ask half the supporters on any Spurs site what the results will be for the next ten games and they will predict a win for every game. Supporters of other teams are far more objective. In the good old days when supporters of other clubs were allowed in pubs around the ground I would go out of my way to talk them.

Yup, you're definitely new around here!

As said, regardless of your perspective on if the Transfer Window was a failure or not, we will be the butt of most jokes for a while.

Somehow I believe Poch will be able to use those jokes to nudge his charges to give even more on the pitch.

Yeah, but we always are, and It didn't cause us much harm these past few seasons.
