Meh I dunno. He handled him by sending him out on loan after a training ground bust up. He soon got rid of the 'supposed' trouble makers at Spurs, like Adebayor, Kaboul and Lennon (if you believe the reports that they were a troublesome group). Also Bentaleb supposedly had an attitude problem & offski he went. And Walker.

So he generally gets rid of them. His real test will be how he deals with Rose eventually and Aurier if he's naughty again, which I don't think he will be. If the past is anything to go by, Rose will be on his way if he shows signs of attitude problems or disruptiveness.

You could argue that someone with better people skills may have transformed them and kept them at the club to make them great again, but most of the players mentioned above were old and set in their ways and I very much get the feeling it's 'get with or get out' with Poch. That's part of the reason we're challengers now.

Thing with that is Ferguson is often lauded as a strong disciplinarian. But he had no problem with selling top players like Mcgrath, Ince, Keane, Beckham etc once he felt there was an attitude problem or the player was not fitting the group in the way he wanted.

We shouldn't be looking to sell players at the first sign of trouble but if they are not right for the club and what Poch is trying to do then selling is the right way to go.

I love Rose and had high hopes for him long before he got in the first team. If his head is now turned then goodbye and I'll remember him fondly.

Just realised what thread I'm in so won't post on this subject again.

Couple snippets from RAWK from the last few weeks:

Auier is a great replacement for Walker but as another poster said on here - Llorente makes no sense whatsoever

If you consider we gave up over 50% of ball to Huddersfield,I reckon this will be about 70/30 in spurs favour. We will defo need an out ball Antonio will be one.Hard to judge if Carroll or Hernandez is the better out ball.I just think Hernandez will get swallowed up by spurs 3 at back .I would think that Carroll will put up a better fight. But it's hard to see a weakness they have at the back, apart from maybe Antonio pace on Davies. But going the other way Aurier will be a real threat he looks lightening quick.Id be tempted to play Arthur to deal with him.

no lanzini, a dreary lunchtime kick off and the likelihood of carroll starting has muted my usual bullish optimism of this one. was convinced we'd beat them the last couple of times they've come over in spite of form, can't say the same for saturday. hope i'm wrong

It wouldn't surprise me if Spurs picked up at least as many points on their travels this season if not more, than when playing at Wembley. This will be a tough game and I would take a draw all day long - a win would be a Brucie but defeat will **** my weekend right up.

They owe us one after the way we celebrated against them last year

3-1 Spurs

strong bench for once plenty of options

2-0 hammers hernandez 2

COYI

Just listened to the post-match press conference here on KUMB and if that is anything to go by, Noble will start.

Slaven also said that Arnie likes to "molest the opposition" - let's hope he don't. That's a red card right there, at least!

Are you talking about the 1-0 last season?

We haven't gone on about it anymore than previous victories, and they would do exactly the same! Just like they did the last time they beat us which was the 4-1 at their gaff 2 years ago - and even funnier, most of them wouldn't shut up about the DRAW at their place last year.

Spurs fans always really want to win this one because despite their nonsense they DO care about this fixture just as much as us!

I just can't believe Spurs won't turn up for the third season on the trot

Take it turns to have a niggle at Alli and they will be down to 10 men by half time.
The kid is a red card waiting to happen

If we win this we will only be one point behind them. Not bad considering the terrible start we had!

Expecting a tougher game though as they haven't got a title race to lose.

A lot of their fans don't seem as half as confident as last season, which worries me
icon_lol.gif

If we beat them and they could be 8 points of city and Man Utd and realistically out of title race so would that mean yet again 'Tottenham ****ed it up' ?

Completely sums that mob up. "I don't hate West Ham but I really hope we smash those p1key c*nts on Saturday." P1key? Last time I remember it was the not so law abiding citizens in that dive that were smashing their own gaff up and looting Tesco Value Basmati rice during the 2011 riots. Its even worse when they refer to us as "Wet Spam."

Curiosity got the best of me and thought I'd google that forum and see what was being said. The irony is reading them obsess about us obsessing about them.

That said, one user on there says "some of them seem to think they're gonna steam roll us". I'm not sure anyone has said we're going to batter them, aside from one post predicting a 3-0 Ravel-style win.

Tottenham as a club have got everything going for them, fantastic new stadium, fantastic squad, excellent leadership at board level. Our situation is a cluster **** of nonsense, and they wonder why we enjoy the wins over them. That's not to say it's our cup final as they keep calling it. It's the same beating any of the top 5 or 6 in the league. But the extra satisfaction comes from taking something away from someone who's close to doing something new. I'd have got as much satisfaction beating Leicester and costing them the league that season than I did beating Spurs and ending their run last season. Same situation as Chelsea fans singing about Gerrard falling over. Football fans get their kicks off the misery of others.

If Tottenham were as likely to win things as us nobody would care
icon_lol.gif

Actually really need to get something from this at least a point.Remember thinking the 4 games after Spurs were easy before a really difficult run.But the 4 games actually look quite tricky now,all the 4 teams are difficult to break down and be very like WBA game .Swansea burnley Brighton palace all managed by defence orientated managers.

They'll be terrified of Carrolls physical presence - just keep AC out of the pub on Friday night and the classic little and large combo will tear them apart - Sakho can **** off it's AC and Hernandez up front every game for me - get the goals early then play 10 behind the ball - I'd give my left bollock to beat them again MM

We messed it up twice on the bounce for them. It happened again! We did warn them it might

Atleast there is more space to conga if we are 0-5 down at HT.

We're stronger than we were last year, they're weaker.

With the right selection I think we'll beat them 3-1.

The one thing in their favour is it's too early for them to choke and they really are chokers. They have an Arsenal like ability to fall to pieces when something really important rides on it, but they're uber-Arsenal in that respect.

I think the same. When the pressure is really on, they bottle it big time. They do go into this game with **** all pressure which makes them potentially a dangerous side where they can relax and play how they usually play. We must start well which hasn't been Bilics forte but he has got previous against doing well again at them at our gaff (even at the toilet bowl) and trust him to find a way.

It's gonna be fascinating and can't wait to sing myself hoarse even at an ungodly hour for football. Get this right, then our season truly kicks off again..

People getting a tad carried away...

They are a very good side and we are scratching around for the right setup and players to fit in it. I've also pissed off several mates by not turning up at a social day to go to the game. Fate will make me suffer

3-0 Spurs.

How are they weaker? They've replaced walker with Aurier who imo is better and Sanchez is class with real pace. The games they've had trouble with are packed defences ,that's basically the only real chance we have. They struggled against Swansea and burnley and essentially Chelsea played same way. When teams have gone toe to toe with them they've won easy like Everton and Dortmund .And that Dortmund result looks better by the day ,Dortmund yet to even concede a goal in 5 games and flying. For me it's the best defence in the league, and Sanchez pace makes even the counter attack hard.So really can't see how anyone can think they are weaker. But weird stuff happens when we play them so who knows.

They're not weaker, about the same but we should be stronger compared to the last time we played them.

Think you underestimate what Sanchez gives them. They had the best defence last season, but were vulnerable to pace in behind.Sanchez removes that problem and also means vertonghen And alderweireld can play further up the pitch. They've conceded 1 shot on target in the 2 PL games he has played. For me people are going overboard on City and united.Still think it will be Chelsea and Spurs fighting it out again this season. They are the 2 best balanced teams ,with the best defences. And invariably the best defences top the league.

You said it yourself, can't see how they can better it.

Spurs have no chance for the League this season, both Manchester's will make sure of that and possibly Chelsea also. Spurs will lose their consistency at home. They'll never get that back what they had last season but on their day can still be **** hot.

I think we've generally been the better side in match ups1 against them in recent years, other than the 1-4

I fancy a result if we have our finishing boots on. Our biggest obstacle will be the referee. Guaranteed there is a pen or 2 in this game

Conversation between me and a hammer on fb after they were laughing at our attendance against Barnsley. I copied it after it happened because I couldn't believe what this twat was coming out with. (I've left the spelling mistakes in....)

Hammer: if you weren't playing league games at Wembley you wouldn't even know where it was.

Me: Actually we've been there around 5 times in the last 10 years. What about you lot? 40, 50 years?

Hammer: 2012 actually you ****

Me: Are you..... are you talking about the play off final?

Hammer: it still Wembley ain't it.

Me: That's not really fair though is it, you have to be relegated to play in that cup.

Hammer: is that all you got, at least we didn't finish 3rd in a to horse race

Me: Of course you didn't finish 3rd. You'll never finish anywhere near 3rd unless it's 3rd from bott.... wait.... are you talking about the championship again. Apologies.

Hammer: yid ****. Enjoy your new home where fans disguise themselves as red seats.

Me: At least we don't park our new homes outside the London stadium every other week. Anyway, 24k against Barnsley midweek isn't the worst though is it.

Hammer: you can't fill Wembley yo mugs. Should've gone to Orient. Your fans are embarrassing themselves with there figures.

Me: You're right. To only get 65k against Swansea is awful. Or did you mean the 68k against Burnley? Or the 70k plus against Chelsea? We will rarely 'fill' Wembley because it's a 90k capacity. Is that so hard to understand?

Hammer: we'd get 70k against Chelsea nothing to brag about

Me: Haha are you a politician? You've decided to ignore the fact I just mentioned we got over 65k against Swansea and Burnley, 2 teams who will be fighting relegation along with yourselves, and still we came out in force.

Hammer: typical yid ****, hates the word yid but it's ok to call me a pikey

Me: Ermmm.... I literally don't know where to start with that one. I assume you're referring to the caravan reference. You don't need to be a traveller to own a caravan. Stop being racist. Anyway, you just called yourself a pikey. I mean, I'm not one to argue so I'll accept your definition of yourself. But congrats again for not replying to the stats I just gave you.

Hammer: fucking yids are so arrogant. I will Keenan love it when we beat you at the weekend

Me: I assume you mean Keegan you massive cockpiece. This is all getting rather tiresome now because you're not addressing any of the points. Enjoy playing in the London stadium for the next century. Btw, how's your 5 year plan re challenging for the champion's league going?

He never responded to that, weirdly.

The great thing about this is that it's genuinely difficult for West Ham fans to win an argument against Spurs fans because we're in a different world to them at the moment. Of course they might beat us in a one off game but we're so far ahead in every single way it's just beautiful. They have nothing on us.

Not as funny as him forgetting they lost 3-2 then trying to use it as ammo to prove a point that doesn't exist.
