There should be no apostrophe after 'nazi'.

Yep.
A propos of nothing, other than apostrophitis: I heard from my son about an Indian restaurant due to open in Oxford. It was called Anu's. (yes, I know). But the apostrophe was omitted, alas, and the sign read: 'Anus opening soon'. Probably quite fitting.

Good start boys. Three pages and we managed to restrict it to only two posts related to what our opponents are saying.

The old thread is dead. Long live the new thread!

This is also the grammar thread. The spirit of the old thread will not die.

So? We liked it that way. There was NOTHING. ELSE. TO. TALK. ABOUT!!!!! . Why? Because its still pre season! Nicdic jumped the gun, me thinks.

He started a new thread with a more focused title and per season reference.

In a way it helps to guide people that just want to cus and laugh at liverpool or west ham, yet outside of anything to do with spurs, back to the right place (let's all laugh at). Or to perhaps start a new thread on someone else in general. I hear there's a great one called NeverRed is a **** and instigated the death of What our opponent's fans are saying.

Anyway it looks like this new one gets to keep the grammar allowance, so nicdic can't be all bad. A mod who's just doing his job ma'am.

Besides there's surely got to be an epic "nothing else to talk about so dump anything here thread" lurking in a dark corner somewhere on here? In fact I'm pretty sure this summer it's a.k.a. The ITK Discussion Thread.

You can call me crazy now, but I think when the dust settles we are all still going to be ok (y)

Trawling the Everton forums and there's obviously very little being said about the game next weekend. Many appear to be in despair after the 1-0 loss to Espanyol today while Liverpool were beating Barcelona. A few are already questioning the decision to appoint Koeman, I kid you not.

Many think Barkley looks shit again in pre season and their team is not helped by having Stones and Lukaku in it when they clearly don't want to be there and don't give a toss. So all rosy on the blue side of scouseland.

Apparently Lukaku has had to have stitches to a cut on his heel after the game, shouldn't affect him starting against us mind, but I'd like to know which heel so Alli can give it a good old fashioned kick after 5 mins.

I did like this reply to a poster who wanted a match report on the game against Espanyol:

Someone give me a match review please..........

the ref blow his whistle

some lads ran about a bit

we conceded a penalty , they scored

they conceded a penalty, we missed

loads of subs were made

we huffed and puffed and ran about a bit but more slowly this time

the ref blew his whistle

the game finished

we lost and the world is about to end

:D

First comment on the game next weekend:

Re: Everton v Espanyol

Would take a 0-0 next week

It's going to be a slow start I think, hopefully make some key signings in the last couple of days of the window and get stronger as the season goes on

We may have to adjust expectations a bit I think. It's not an overnight job. If we can finish 2 or 3 places higher than last season then it's a decent enough start for Koeman

He's just got far too much work to do to get us in the top 4/5

As usual GlastonSpur has been embarrassing the entire Spurs supporting world with his posts on RedCafe. He started this thread:

Spurs XI: name 4 better Prem players in each position?

With this incredible first post:

Setting aside the issue of squad depth, I'd be interested to know views as to which four Prem teams from the realistic contenders for top 4 (who these are is up to you) have better players than Spurs' first XI in any given position. To make it simpler I've lumped four positions into pairings (two CBs and a CM duo). Of course it's not quite as straightforward as this, due to different preferred formations - e.g. 4-2-3-1 vs 4-3-3 - but anyhow ...

To be clear, I'm not asking for the names 1 or 2 or 3 better players or pairings in any position/pairing. Instead I'm asking posters to either name four better players (or pairings), or else to leave the space blank after each Spurs' player/pairing listed if you don't think that there are 4 better players/pairings (from amongst the top 4 contenders).

You can include any players (e.g. Pogba) that your team is almost certainly going sign this summer

By the way, I'm just canvassing views in the hope of sparking an interesting and useful discussion considering that most on here (as far as I'm aware) don't think that Spurs will finish in the top 4 this season. So I'm not claiming that the Spurs first XI is the best in the Prem, nor necessarily that we have a top 4 player/pairing in each position.

And he was, unsurprisingly, met with this response:

Can't be arsed. You'll finish sixth.

He really does post some inane bullshit over there. Why on earth does he think a United forum will give a fuck about analysing the Spurs squad in such depth? And more to the point if he wants to talk about that stuff, why doesn't he do it on a Spurs forum?! As was noted for him:

Are the Spurs forums really so shit?

Again from RedCafe in their Spurs thread, here's a classic post from a cookie-cutter deluded arrogant Liverpool fan, about Spurs:

Ruffian said:
LOL. Please like us, please respect us. Please think of us in the same way we do about ourselves.

The problem for Spurs is the opposite to the one they've had traditionally. They used to have one or two exceptional flair players and a soft, mushy underbelly that was routinely squashed by decent teams. Now they have a solid midfield and defence, are well coached and very hard working. But they are full of decent to good players, none of which are exceptional. They have no one of great pace, no one of great skill, no one who can beat three players. And they cannot afford to spend 50 -70 million on a player who might give them that necessary elevation. Neither, of course, are they a club with the pedigree to attract such a player.

Rather than poking at the wound of your insecurity, Spurs fans should embrace the reality of financial restriction. Your competitors are West Ham and Everton for the forseeable future.

What a ****.

When someone responded with "and who are the competitors for Liverpool?", the first response was "Stoke and West Brom".

It'd be great being like Liverpool and buying a huge stable of mid table players at 30 odd million a pop..

Can someone please bump the original thread and can we boycott this dreadful attempt to usurp the most popular thread on SC.

Can we ban references from Red Cafe. It's obviously a forum forum rerards whom like football and therefore doesn't have an opinion worth listening to. How else do we explain Glaston?

RedCafe's great, it just happens to have a fair number of numpties because so many people visit it and X% of them will be chumps and/or chumpettes.

Completely agree with the previous posts about Glaston in this thread though, he is a fucking stain on the reputation of Spurs fans everywhere. If we have any tecchies on this site then it would do us all a big favour if someone could create a bot that auto-posted "GlastonSpur is a tit and the vast majority of Spurs fans don't think like him, FYI" as a reply whenever he posted on another team's message board.

The sentence doesn't scan well. I suggest:'You complete bastards! Without the proper grammar, as advised in the previous thread, how the FUCK am I meant to write a strongly worded email to Daniel Levy's secretary!' That's better!
