Police: So, West Ham attempting to stay up, Spurs potentially still in the title race, always a hostile derby. This should be played at a time when it's least likely to cause trouble. How about 1230 Saturday morning to minimise the risk of violence.

West Ham officials: Agreed. Friday night is a terrible idea. People drinking after a long week at work and it doesn't matter how pissed they get because they've still got 2 days left of the weekend to recover. We've had trouble here throughout the season, even against Bournemouth FFS. Early Saturday game has to be the only way forward

Sky: We'll give you £2m to play it Friday ni...

WH officials: Done.

One less day for Andy Carroll to recover from which ever injury is troubling him come May.

Not for just one day?

I could grab one of my cousins but that would require a trek up north to Cambridge.

I'd also rather wear an Arsenal top than sit in the home end at West Ham.

Unless of course @ShaunL84 is up for taking one of their ends 80s style?

70's style was much more fun. So I have heard.

We all know that football sold it's heart, soul and any pretence of giving a fig about the fans to Sky years ago but I can't believe the Police are swallowing this, money really does talk.

If I think about it, I only dislike Friday night football because it's different. In reality though, it should be perfect because people can go straight from work to have a drink up, watch the footie, bar/club afterward, then they have the whole weekend to recover and spend time with their families all weekend if they want to. That's really not a bad alternative to Saturday afternoon and much more attractive (to me) than Sunday football.

However, a derby like this shouldn't really be a Friday night. The Met will get a lot more money for this because it's a Friday night so you're right, money does talk. Though it could cost the Met a lot more in overtime when it all goes wrong...
