The German striker arrived at Spurs on loan from RB Leipzig with a £15m option to buy, and, by the sounds of it, Spurs may well be considering taking up that option.

Indeed, according to Alasdair Gold, speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, the words being uttered around Tottenham seem to suggest that Spurs are already thinking of Werner as a long-term player rather than just a six-month stopgap option that this loan deal suggested he could be.
