Let's face it, he has polarised fans with his managerial trigger finger. Hes had some scathing reviews on here for the way he has run the club and there has been more than one petition to get him out.
I personally take my hat off to him for having the bravery and foresight to employ poch, have the belief to give him a 5 year contract and reap the rewards.
We've always been built on 1 or 2 star players, who when they go cause the team to implode for a few seasons before more stars are unearthed. Now there are no stars, but a collective.

There is a gushing love in for poch, for developing this squad into a hungry, lean mean ass kicking of a collective team machine, and rightly so.
I'd like to thanks DL for putting the foundations in place. New stadium, youngest PL squad, healthy finances.
The future is bright the future is lillywhites!

Hopefully, by Christmas, we can put down the guns and be friends again...

To me, criticism of Levy is a clear case of be careful what you wish for. Look at the position we were in when ENIC took over in 2001. The 90s were a horrendous sequence of mid-table mediocrity, with the odd relegation scrap thrown in. We were the equivalent to what Villa or Newcastle are now for close to a decade. Yes we had the odd quality player - Sheringham, Klinsmann and Ginola are revered by fans. However the difference between now and then is absolutely remarkable, and to me Daniel Levy is the standout reason for that. This is essentially the second greatest spell in our entire history of consistent finishes at the top end of the league. Let's be honest, Levy is very unfortunate that two nothing clubs have been gifted a lottery win or he'd have achieved even more. And this certainly isn't the pinnacle of Levy's reign - I think we can all see that this is a team and a club that is going places and growing all the time. The academy and stadium will be Levy's legacy, and I think in ten or twenty years time we as a fanbase will truly acknowledge what this man has done for our club. There have certainly been stumbling blocks along the way - the Jol debacle in particular still leaves a sour taste in the mouth. However he's in the process of making us great again, and I couldn't be more grateful.

This is in no way a criticism of Levy as I think he's done a great job in general but the story is supposedly that Poch was Joe Lewis' choice after they met playing golf or something...

Well done Mr Levy.

Training complex. Stadium. Academy products. Poch.

The leading English club in the English Premier League and one which is only going to get better.

Can't remember which way round it was, but yes I think we were certainly told Levy wanted FDB and Lewis Poch.

One thing he has to do IMO is whatever it takes to keep Pochettino at the club long term. We've finally got a manager that fits the philosophy of the club, brings the youth through, and actually has an identifiable playing style. I'm tempted to say we've finally got a manager that actually knows what he's doing... We need to keep him here for the long term and build a legacy.

If he does that, then as well as the the stadium and academy, we'll have a lot to thank Levy for...

Let's get in a new striker first, Levy. Don't choke the development of the team by penny-pinching...

I think we all need to calm down a bit.

I'm a levy fan but we ain't won anything yet.

Long season ahead.

Took over in 2001. 14 years. 1 trophy. Still in the same stadium.

Under his tenure we have got back to par, after a decade of being under par. League consistency has been excellent over the last few years but this is during an era where league predictability, due to money, has increased and in reality we have been performing at a level we should be and no more. It's also come during a period of massive investment into football which has certainly increased the value of the club despite the lack of success.

In Levy's defence if Chelsea and City hadn't won the lottery things may be different. Or maybe those players would have gone to other Premier League grandees and we'd still be where we are.

Irrespective of everything else and despite the hero worship from a large portion of our fans the bottom line comes down to success. And in the last 14 years we have won just 1 League Cup. The much maligned (and deservedly so) Alan Sugar's Spurs also won the same trophy in the 10 years he was in charge. Sugar also improved the stadium.....

Harsh IMO to compare levy to sugar. Levy has run this club professionally when other clubs have been run into the ground. I sense something special happening and he has created it. It's hard to win trophies, as apart from pl (which is out of reach of the top 3) the cups are most often down to luck. Look at some of the recent finalists, hardly consistently great teams who deserved a trophy, normally just an average team with a lucky cup run.
State of the art training complex, brand new stadium and the balls to stick your nose out and appt a up and coming manager on a 5 yr deal. The fact he ties down all talent with long deals and rarely makes a loss for spurs. Hopefully the trophies may come but I'm happy enough to be enjoying whats happening now and say hats off to him.

If he's criticised when things are going badly, it makes sense for him to be praised when things are going well.

Obviously it would be better if we were generally more measured in our responses...but that ain't gonna happen.

We still fucked up by not brining in striking cover. It's still the case that if Kane gets injured we're in big trouble.

Hear hear and it does take a long while to build something on solid foundations to win things.

As has been pointed Citeh and Chelscum have had foreign money thrown at them. Bindippers are American. Manure Anerican and L'Arse at least 50% foreign.

Take all that away and I reckon we would have been a top two club these last few years not a top five.

The number of hurdles Levy has had to overcome are immeasurable.

I just wrote this on another thread:

It's reasonably plain from his own statements that Pochettino has impressed upon Levy and his recruitment colleagues that he either wants us to sign a player he wants or he wants us to sign no one. Managers, as a rule, take a longer-term view of player trading than fans. The latter want to see transfers in Janary that are related to the current season's weaknesses and eventual finishing position. A good manager focuses on building a squad over a period of years.

I think Pochettino is on one extreme of this tendency. He doesn't want players in the squad unless he is convinced that he can get them to play in his preferred style. He'd rather persevere with the people he has. I'm not speculating, I heard him say it about a couple of months ago.

If/when we don't get a suitably exciting and high-profile "no. 9" to back up Kane this January, there will be some explosions around here and people will blame Levy for "not backing the manager". I don't think that will be the case. We'll either get someone Pochettino actually wants or we'll get no one.

Ffs it's fucking November.

We've had more points at this stage of the season 2 or 3 times and we haven't gone on to do the double.

People need to ground themselves or else they're gonna hit a low when it goes Pete Tong.

Let's call it at the end of the season, or at least at the end of the January transfer window. Nelson and Saha are probably free agents this season.

I also think he got lucky. Don't forget his first choice was Van Gaal. When that didn't happen he went for the opposite in poch. Neither could have imagined the rise of Kane and Dier ect.
