not a surprise we didnt appeal.

Not sure it would have been over turned and we would lose are only RB at the moment for another game... Vs Liverpool

So how long is the ban? 1, 2 or 3 games? Would mean Dier on the right and Kabs with Verty at CB.

As long they are fit...

I thought it was a fairly clear a mistake, too many things involved for it to have been a clear red. The only person I have seen agree with the ref has been Rudd Gulllit.

Was it intentional? I don't think anyone can clearly say it was, he was so close to the ball as it was struck. I am not even 100% he has his eyes on the ball as it happens. That is before you can even answer if it was on target. Also it is a fair assumption that Kyle is not going to be better at stopping a shot with his hands than a professional goalie who is standing directly behind him and will have more time to react!

But I guess in a world where Stevie G can attack someone be caught on CCTV doing so, suggest it was self defence and get away with it.... then we cant be sure of anything!

You're only going to get a red for handball overturned if the ball didn't hit his arm. If the ball did hit his arm, it's down to the ref's judgement, and will never be overturned.

will just be 1 game
Thanks. For some reason I always thought a straight red was three games regardless. Are there certain circumstances (aside fron Naughton's) where a straight red is only one game? Thanks

No way on earth could that be classed as a frivolous appeal. Can only think FA warned us not to so as not to make their shit officials look bad too early on in the season...

Only 1 game if it's for denying a goalscoring opportunity (as in this case). 3 games for violent conduct.

I think a red card for denying a goal scoring chance is the only one (or that i can think of)

Violent conduct or serious foul play i think are 3

I think a red can be 1 2 3 or 4 match ban depending on circumstances. 1 for 2 yellows and professional fouls. 2 for offensive, insulting or abusive language or gestures 3 for dangerous/reckless play or violent conduct and 4 for amassing three? or more? Reds in a season.

It was a harsh red but it was defensible in the laws of the game. For that reason, it makes sense they didn't appeal.
