Its a joke that Japan and the USA can bid for it, given that they've held them recently. Somewhere like Australia needs to have it, but it would be bad timing to watch!

Precisely. & logistics for fans. & the fact that footballs not that popular in Australia

These things have to be taken into account, it’s no big conspiracy -

It's not the most popular sport there but generally speaking Aussies are big into sport generally and if they were hosting it everyone would get involved I'm sure. If nothing else it's an excuse to have a party and get pissed with your mates so I'm sure they wouldn't take too much convincing.

One of the main problems in Australia would be that the WC takes place (well, usually takes place) in June/July which would be right in the middle of the NRL and AFL seasons out there, which could be an issue due to the bigger stadiums all being in use for other events.

I suspect that the bigger stadiums could become available if the NRL's and AFL's palms were greased.

Yeah I'm sure there's a solution to be found, just pointing out that it's one obsticle that would have to be dealt with.

This was a problem in there last bid , the afl didn’t get on side with the bid and it ruined it for everyone here. The afl can’t handle football becoming a popular sport in Australia so we’re against the World Cup because to them Afl is the best and most important sport in the world
