Ok, balls on the line, I think Wayne Rooney would be a astute signing for us for a couple of seasons.

Can play up top as cover for Kane or in behind, hard working, determined and would be great experience for our young English squad.

Am I mad?

maybe the one from 10 years ago, don't want the current version...

Just think we need someone who has actually won a few things and has PL / CL experience. A bit left field/different.

Think he would provide better cover than VC too.

I can't see us signing a top top player in his prime with similar experience.

I can't either, but that doesn't mean we simply give up by signing Rooney...

I don't think he'd be a terrible signing. I mean we have reached new depths with Sissoko so we can only do better from there.

He's been well off the pace for about three years. I agree we could do with an experienced player to drag us over the line in some games, but Rooney isn't that man.

Don't see signing United's / englands record goal scorer as giving up exactly.
Have u recently been released from prison or is there some other reason why u haven't watched any footy for the last few years? A coma perhaps?

Don't think he's right for us.
Experienced, yes, but would he suit Poch's ethos, I'm not so sure.
Still a relatively big fee I'd guess, with no chance to recoup, and big wages definitely. Our previous experienced signings, Naybet, Davids, Gallas etc have been free transfers, or nominal fees.
Besides, he's come out this last week and said the only other Prem side he go to, is back to Everton.
