Yes. Still think he would score more goals than Janssen as a striker. It's also what he brings in terms of actually winning experience which we don't have. He has medals.

None of our players has won major domestic honours. That's what I mean, wining experience. I also never heard of other players questioning his professionalism.
Maybe, but Janssen can improve, Rooney will only get worse.

Ok, balls on the line, I think Wayne Rooney would be a astute signing for us for a couple of seasons.

Can play up top as cover for Kane or in behind, hard working, determined and would be great experience for our young English squad.

Am I mad?
Mad? No.
But clueless quite possibly.

Only joking mate.

But no. No no no.

He's there leaving United to come sit on our bench for a quarter of the money. If he leaves it will e to get regular football, which is either abroad or bottom half of premier league

Let him stay at united so that they can't use his squad slot to buy another top player.

If we need a player from united to provide the experience, then I'd pick Carrick over him but we don't need either of them in our present set up and available players.

I'd rather take an old, old Dimitar Berbatov, who didn't even break a sweat when he was in his mid 20s, than a fat, hasbeen Wayne Rooney.

BBC:

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney says he has "more or less" decided his future at the club

"There's lots of offers on the table, both in England and abroad," he said.

But United's all-time leading scorer with 253 goals said he would only move to former club Everton if he stayed in the Premier League.

So in the real world, it isn't happening and the only attraction for any club is the marketing really. Thank fuck there's no actual real media link and this is just the product of an imagination befuddled by sniffing Picnic bars.

Can you imagine if we signed him? Levy would cop a shitstorm for allowing it, for doing it and for being bald.

Actually, on reflection, no. He wouldn't, the BSoDL would hail it as a stroke of genius :D

Not sure what point your making here. I'm not suggesting Rooney as a replacement for Kane. More so as an experienced PL / CL winner who might add something different to our squad. Do you think Janssen will hit those levels ? If you wanted a CL PL winner who would you sign?

We are ready to win now. This team will be picked off by others in a few years and looking at the squad now winning experience it's an area we lack and adding it may help us. I see Rooney as more value to the team as cover than a Janssen at this point in time (i.e. Team which can win the title)
