Reading Poch was disappointed with the win against Manure senses desire not there so put it right then! Needed a reality check but shows how much you do need desire in every game in the Premier League if slightly off it you get punished and Watford, fair play to them took full advantage. We were bullied today and felt off the pace even taking the lead we looked lethargic when you usually score your confidence builds but instead we just seemed to dwindle, Demeble's passing at times was woeful

I agree having a Son or a Lamela was a dynamic required but on we march to next match against a team with so many dynamics lets hope we can handle COYS!!

I’m not convinced Son or Lamela would have made a difference from the bench today.

What we needed was the Wanyama of 2016/17. Really hope he can reach that level for us again.

Poch’s game management was awful today, i said it last season and i’ll say it again, he reacts way too late to what is happening on the pitch, and makes changes too fucking late every time.

Also why did he change a winning team from Old Trafford, there was no need to chop and change, Dembele is not a holding midfielder. Fuming.
It could be worse spare a thought for west ham but seriously though my concern is the struggle to keep a clean sheet apart from the Utd game.
This is an area that klopp has improved on this season so far but we look so vulnerable from balls into the box and when anyone cranks the pressure up very disappointing.

Any post match comments from Poch?

Pretty scathing after the match. Repeated what he said to the players that the Old Trafford score flattered us. Also said that although we were comfortable at HT today it was still a lacklustre performance lacking in aggression and attacking intent. And of course saying you can’t defend so badly from set pieces and expect to challenge for big trophies.

Can’t disagree with any of it really.

All I said was that it’s ironic, which it is.
Yeah, but the whole issue people have with Dier is that he brings nothing to our attack and general MF dynamic NOT that he is shit and doesn't have any use. He isn't shit and does have a use...just not so frequently in the MF. Not even particularly nuanced a point.

Against this team of battering rams he would/could have been useful instead of, or to aid, Dembele who was being overrun by two beasts in front of him and another from behind. With no fucking help from Dele 'not a MF' Alli, and Christian 'I will show my creativity today in avoiding tackles' Eriksen Dembele was exposed. Though I don't feel he was as bad overall considering the actual task. Watford clearly weren't gonna allow him to do his thing.

Just back. We were ok but two terrible pieces of defending, particularly the second where there was no challenge.

Also see how limited our options are off the bench. Unfortunate that Son and Lamela were both out but we’re trying to compete with City who brought Sane, De Bruyne and Jesus off the bench in one recent game!

Nope there definately is irony in the narrative of the dier thread all week being he’s not good enough and then the narrative of the match thread just a few days later being that poch should’ve bought him on earlier.

All that being the same people would have made it was hypocritical aswell.
The definition of irony certainly has been a topic of late.

Wtf would/should/are the players doing talking about titles?

Nothing more than responding to the interviewer asking them about being title contenders.

I'm baffled as to how so many seem to be annoyed about it, to be honest. Like I said, they were just responses to questions in an interview after the game.

I guarantee, if the same players had spoken down the possibility of challenging for the league, the very people who are angry at them for being positive, would be slamming them for lacking a winning mentality and being weak.

Spursy.

Bad game management on and off the pitch.

Not sure why we go to 3 at the back

Not sure why Dier doesn't start.

Hard decisions to make and not shirk Poch.

Poch thinks it makes us more sturdy/stable.

All it does is make our forward play dense and arduous and we eventually lose the midfield...which is the opposite of what it should allow.

Says it all, really.

Eriksen seems to be lost when Moura is playing. I think the forward line is going to take some time to gel. In all our games, the final ball has been lacking.

Which is the stuff Son and Lamela does.. ?
I don't see much creation from lamela and son weighs in with a decent ratio of goals but where is creativity from midfield apart from erikson, I bet poch wishes he could have brought in 3/4 in to bolster his side's ambitions.

It's a pointless argument as we are not in a position to win a title so players and fan's should not even entertain the notion.

Exactly how I saw it.
