Following @ryantegan honourable volte face earlier today I thought it might be interesting to do a snap poll to see how many have swung behind Poch since he signed for us.

If you can be arsed explain your choice in the comments below, and if you changed your mind from or to someone else say who he is or was.

Always the right decision IMO. Never seen such unanimous praise.

Just look how much money he's made for southampton. I know its impossible to say that they wouldn't be worth that much with another manager but... they wouldn't be worth that much without another manager.

I was open minded before and am now. I think De Boer would have been more of a statement, but who's to say it would have been a successful one. Pochettino seems, at what little evidence we have, to have a plan, is happy to work within constraints of the club and is reassessing the squad as we'd like. Definitely behind him, not seen enough to pass any kind of meaningful judgment yet though.

Not sure, really. We are still in the bottom three.

Of course, that will change after the first game!

Wanted FDB and it's way too early to tell but in the spirit of positivism I'm gonna say I was wrong and some of you other mugs were right.

Way too early

However, I was perfectly content with either him or de Boer taking charge. Was very impressed with how Southampton played last season and I saw clear evidence that he had a tactical plan and most importantly could get his players to buy into it.

Its also been good to see the utter crap about how he wouldn't command the respect of senior players and predictions that certain players would want to leave get made to look silly straightaway...

The indications are good but we're going to have to see over the season. If he can get the players just playing to their level he (and we) will be fine. If he can do what he did at Saints and help a lot of players really kick on then it could be a big season.

My favourite bit so far is his "make the fans proud" (paraphrasing) reply in his interview. I think he gets that we're a demanding lot when it comes to style and excitement. In hindsight I'm not totally sure that de Boer did or would have, maybe why he wasn't picked despite the CV?

My original stance was this:

He seems like a bright manager and they way he has got Southampton playing suits our playing personnel so he appears a good fit for our club. The fact that he's more of a coach than a manager and appears comfortable with the DOF system also helps his case for becoming Spurs manager.

He is however very young and inexperienced and he may be taking a big job when he hasn't learnt his trade yet. He's an unknown quantity and not sure if he has the experience to rotate the players successfully. He played a criminally weakened team in the cups for the Saints when they had a great chance of getting to the final. Are our squad players going to be dismissed in the same way?

The early signs are positive but they almost always are. I hear good things. But I don't want theory. I want to see what happens on the pitch, how we play and how he deals with various situations and the press. I'll reserve my judgment and enjoy my time on the fence not being excited or negative.
