The ten-cap right-back, 23, has not played for Spurs since March 13 because of a persistent pelvic injury.

That sucks. I really think he could have learned a lot from playing at the World Cup plus now we have to watch Glen Johnson try to be a footballer.

Think its a good thing for spurs.....but for him a shame.
But he needs to come back earlier than the others and start pushing himself to get fit and on top form for the start of next season.
Also think ...attacking wise he would be good for England but against some of the better countries IMHO I think he'd come unstuck due to his positioning and relying too much on his pace.
But hes young and still learning ....so the future is bright IF he listens and learns.

Glen johnson is better than walker
I think they are probably about level. Walker will be better than Johnson and Johnson has never convinced at international level, if you like. Walker has been promising at that level (though he has had a few poor games as well). Either way you need two right backs going into a tournament.

Anyway it is a shame, but frankly expected.

Does this mean that there are no Spurs players in the squad?! That's got to be the first time hasn't it?!

They still haven't learnt have they.

England never do well without any Spurs players in the team.

Walker has been average since he picked up young player of the year. I wouldn't be adverse to us signing a right back in the summer.

Doesn't deserve spot in england squad IMO.

England never do well.

Seems to be a myth that England were ever any good at football .

The 66 WC was the exception which proved the rule . Heck we lost to a bunch of USA amateurs in 1950 .

Haven't only recently become sh1t , we always been that way .

I'd say he was our most consistently good outfield performer up until AVB left. After that I think he faded and did more and more strange choices.

He may have benefitted from AVBs more tactical approach.

Is this new news? I thought we already knew he wasn't going to Brazil after his injury?

Glad no-one's pressured him to go anyway, despite the fact i give him stick, he's unfortunately the best we have at the moment, and arguably one of the better English full backs, and still young - realistically, he wouldn't be at his peak until the next world cup so he shouldn't be too heartbroken, just inspired to work hard and guarantee his name on the list for the Euro's.

Great news. No spurs players involved in the England circus. Not a great many in the WC period, gives new guy plenty of time with them fresh

Before his injury, he was arguably our best outfield player this season - this was before Eriksen started playing well.

The less our players are involved in the WC the better for us. That will give the new HC or Manager more time to work with them pre-season.

The problem is; what about our more important foreign players? Walker is the only English first team footballer at Spurs. All of the rest are squad players or deadwood.

If Wilshere gets in then the whole thing a farce. He's been injured for more of the season than Walker, and has been decidedly average. If Wilshere gets in despite his injury problems than Walker's injury shouldn't count against him either

I'm glad he's not going. Knowing our luck with players getting injured while on international duty he'd probably do his ACL or something in training
