Janssen has performed best this season against the sides with big, brute-like cb's who intimidate (yes, I know most of these have been lower league sides) but you still need a striker who doesn't get bullied in games, Janssen has definitely developed in his physique...a lot stronger now, a little less chubby.

I would be happy to give him another year!

What if we keep him he is as bad as the season just finished ? Levy isn't going to sanction bringing in another striker if we kept Janssen.

The main differences between him and Soldado are his youth and his obvious improvement over the season.

What obvious improvement? Poch was calling out in Feb stating that he had to do more and was bringing him on at one point when Kane was injured. I get people want to support him but can we please not distort reality here. Had he been at any other club the comments would very different

Anyone watching him throughout the season could see he improved.

Improved where? His scoring record didn't improve, the manager was stating that he wasn't showing enough in February and he wasn't even getting in the team despite Kane being injured.

You obviously didn't watch all our games if you can't see his game improved.

Seems like a nice lad and there is no reason he can't go onto be a good player. In our current situation we need a back up for harry that is guaranteed to get goals though.
What you are asking for is nigh on impossible. Someone good enough to guarantee goals whilst being happy to sit on the bench, on our wages, doesnt exist mate.

I did watch and if Jansen dodged defenders as good as you did with that question he might had more goals to his name!

I will always root for Soldado. Mostly because he's a brilliant human being.

As for Janssen, there's still a player in there. And I highly doubt Levy would be up to selling him at a loss given his age. And, since I don't see anyone offering near what we paid, I'd consider him likely to stay.

Honestly, unless we are going to sign a guy like Kelechi Iheanacho, I don't really see the point of selling Janssen at the moment.

I think most would be happy with a striker who could contribute 10-12 outfield goals to be honest. That is a perfectly reasonable expectation. The margin between success and failure is very thin, we cannot afford to carry players who do not contribute what we require of them.

Come again?

Soldado is a really great guy. I think really great guys are awesome. In a world where there's a bunch of assholes running it, I like to root for the good guys. Therefore, I root for Soldado. Hope that cleared it up.

For further clarification purposes, the original statement was made in response to this:
It really is like Soldaldo over again both on and off the pitch.

He played 829 minutes. That strike rate would be Messi standard and let's be honest, even if he did score at that rate you'd find some other part of his game to rag on. You've had it in for him since he joined.

Not really, that was some statement about his character, I was just wondering if there was anything behind it?
