Stick. He might make it big or he might sell on for a profit if he just doubles last years tally.

I like him and reckon he'll come good.

I also think he works hard enough to deserve respect.

Stick.

Watch any of the highlights videos of all our goals last season. He's more involved that you think. And the dirty truth from SC is that a lot more of us like his all-around game, what he brings to the side than just how many he puts in the back of the net. He creates a lot of goal scoring opportunities, he works extremely hard just being a general menace to defenders, and he puts himself in a lot of goal-scoring opportunities. He did miss those chances or they were saved, but he was 22 in his first EPL season.

And I think he would have put more in the back of the net if he wasn't called upon so quickly last season with Kane's injury. Another preseason with some hard work in the offseason and I think he will score at least 10 in all competitions and assist at least 5.

I'm more of a twist man on this , as I was with Soldado . Both popular due to their attitudes .

To me Janssen is a risk . We have numerous matches coming up , Kane has to have rest periods . Capable backup is needed for a title charge .
There's a couple of big differences though. Soldado was signed as a 28 year old in his prime after 7 seasons in the Spanish top division and was expected to be our first choice striker and primary source of goals.

Janssen signed a month after he turned 22, after only 1 season in a weaker Dutch first division and was expected to be back up/rotation for our main striker.

He didn't get off to a flying start in the league for us, but let's not forget that the whole team weren't in the best of form in the first two or three months of the season. Can't be easy moving to a new club in a different country and be expected to fill Harry Kane's boots in a team that was struggling to create very much.

My opinion is that he's shown enough goal scoring ability at his previous club (27 in 34 for AZ) and at international level (7 in 13) as well as enough work ethic, determination and hold up play in his first season for us to at least deserve another season.

Pressure is off him now, he's settled in the country and in the club, let's see what he can really do.

Stick, he's 12 months into the Poch program, bringing in someone else who is happy to backup Kane means starting all over again.

He only turned 23 last week, deserves another season for me.

Stick. He's clearly improved over the last season and will continue to do so. He's obviously a hard worker and very keen to score goals, and shows signs of fitting into Poch's style of play more now. Adapting to a new, faster, more competitive division takes a bit of time, just ask Lamela.
Having said all of this, I still feel a wee bit concerned that he is our back up striker, as opposed to a 'guaranteed' goal scorer, but then, he was that when we signed him!

I'd like us to twist and upgrade on him as I can't personally see him coming good

But I also if we twist we will end up in a similar situation to what we have done in twisting with N'Jie and bringing in NKD

So really I don't know what I want us to do, I hope we can upgrade but I if we can't find a better prospect then I just hope he can some how prove me very wrong next year

Most "better" strikers we could get would not be content playing backup to Harry Kane

Of course

But in a perfect world I'd like someone I considered a better prospect

Someone who could rotate better and contribute more than Janssen did

As I said I'm not confident we can successfully do that and I hope Janssen proves me wrong

But to answer the question with my own personal opinion I'd like to see us upgrade on him as I personally didn't feel he improved last year or showed signs that he will next year

If we stick with him I won't complain, I will take it as an indication that Poch sees something in him I do not and I will trust his judgement

Stick. Whilst he hasn't hit the ground running he hasn't had many really poor games in terms of his overall contribution. Only that Villa game springs to mind as a particularly bad game for him.

Despite the fact that I want him to stay we do need some pace upfront so i'd potentially look at someone like Josh King to offer a threat in behind too.

All this being said, I wouldn't exactly be devastated if he were to leave and we replaced him.

Why would they have to be back up?

Personally I would like us to go get a top striker, back in the day Man Utd kept 4 very good strikers happy and we are suggesting we cant keep two happy

Also Poch has played with a 2 man strike force at Espanyol and at southampton

Someone like Lacazette would be perfect, as he can play RW and as a striker

His fee would be high but in a world where Sissoko cost £30m, Lacazette at £44m isnt that bad especially if we give them some freebies like N'Jie and Sissoko

Can't see us getting Lacazette personally mate mainly due to fee and wages leaves us totally out of it imo.

Ideally I'd like us to twist but we don't live in an ideal world and I can understand why we'd give him a second season

I have not seen him demand ludicrous wages anywhere

Also fee wise, the fee of ~£45m is equivalent of the fee we paid for Lamela/soldado in the current market

I still can't see us paying out 45m for him just won't happen imo.
