It's no more a secret, we have the best defensive midfielder in the prem.

They have been screaming about Kante, and i've been pleased with that, because our man Wanyama, could quietly go on his merry way, under the radar.

But now it's out in the open, we have the main man in our midst.

I like it that Conte knew this, but still couldn't change the outcome, our man and our team prevailed in that last match we played against them.

Can we do it again at Wembley?

I sure hope so.

I remember when we signed him how some kept going on about him getting a red card every other game. His disciplinary record has been pretty good for a player doing the kind of work he does for us. Best summer signing by a country mile.

It's a bit of a nothing article when you read it, and the writer clearly doesn't know Spurs particularly well as he talks about us playing 4-4-2

Gotta hold my hands up here. Whilst I wasn't against the signing, I was certainly ambivalent towards it, but he has been superb this season and long may it continue.

The best of our summer signings I feel?

Wanyama has been fanstastic

although Its not really a particularly high bar in terms of our summer recruitment! The rest have all been massive flops (or dont exist in the case of N'Koudou)

My main frustration with the season is our poor recruitment as we would be much closer to Chelsea if we had converted a couple more draws when Harry was out against avg teams into wins

I have to admit I thought he'd be average at best. My memory is bad at the best of times, but I never remembered playing the saints and thinking wow that Wanyama looks good. Just another saint's player who would be shown up when making the step up. A big lump who would do OK against shit but exposed against more intricate teams. Added to that we had Dier in his position, who I thought was already infinitely better, and had the potential to be the absolute best. Was I ever wrong. He's been an absolute rock.

While I thought he was a good player he wasn't someone I particularly wanted us to buy.

I wanted intelligent players who could pick out a pass. Someone who can dictate the pace of the game.

But I have been very impressed by his passing. While he is not playing 30 yard defence splitting passes he does hold the ball well in difficult areas and doesn't just play the safe sideways pass all the time.
