Vertonghen's 2nd booking was just an accident, and Dier's wasn't a booking at all. What with the offside decisions, the officials were useless.

Shocking decision by the ref last night but I'm sure we have enough to see off APOEL without Super Jan. Madrid would have been a different story

The ref and lineos were terrible. If they are the best that Italy has to offer I feel sorry for the Italian fans.

Yes they were useless, especially as Dortmund had a goal wrongly disallowed. But if I had to pick between 2-2 and vertonghen wrongly being sent off in injury time I'd pick the latter

On another day he'd get away with it but I'm hopeful we can still win in Cyprus without him. If we do we'll be well set to qualify.

Presumably Dier will play Left of the 3 CBs in the next round, as he did against Dortmund after the sending off.
He'll be fine there but will be missed in midfield.

Maybe, but Sanchez is a righty.
I dare say he could play on the left as Alderweireld has, but going on last season and the end of the Dortmund game, Dier is the reserve LCB.

That's three right footed cbs. It might of worked for the last minute against Dortmund but there's no way it will for a whole game.

Toby on the left of the centre back pairing will work. He's done it before when dier stepped in for vertonghen last year

...but in the build up to the goal they got, there was a clear offside, so it evens out.
