They have to do the hard work to become good, and Ramos' playing style suits Spurs, but the players have to have the best shape to play such good football.

If you look at the photos on the official site, it looks more like a warm-down/stretching session than full-on training.

Some disturbing pictures of our new coach. For example his hands seem to be larger than his head:

But he can move a set of goalposts with one finger:

Juande has unusual ideas for his training sessions:

There's a brilliant one of him on FTL looking completely enraged with the caption "Raaaaaaaaan mother beeches, Raaaaaaaaan!"

But as it is a Getty Images picture I don't want to annoy Rob by posting it here.

Last year when Fabio Capello took over Real Madrid, he said he couldn't believe the poor shape of the squad. And his regiment won them a lot of games.

I'm sure Ramos is going to be doing everything to get these guys in better shape as for us, that would have already been worth 11 points this campaign.

Actually, it was RvN's goals (and Beckham's assists) that won the games. Real were frequently utter shite, ultra-defensive and boring. Capello was also shit-stirring big-time behind the scenes. No wonder he got the chop. Real fans hated him, and he was none too popular at Juve.

Fortunately, Ramos' tactical notions are diametrically opposed to Capello's.

Nah it's his way of things, they will have to get used to it or leave won't they, why should they get afternoons off anyway, there paid enough to be there from 9 til 5.

I'm guessing this is just the start of things to come, we will see a difference on the pitch after a few weeks of this i'm sure.

Anyone else think we might hammer Blackpool now, say 5 - 1.

To be honest I would prefer a 1-0 or 2-0 win. We just need a clean sheet under our belts.

Have a look back (if you can be arsed!) and see how many games Madrid won with late goals.

Capello got them player for 95 minutes every game. They scored lots of late winners towards the end of the season and during the last game of the season came on strong to come from 1 down to win 3-1. Capello was hated by the players, but it was his regime (and of course Becks and Horse Face) that won them the title.

And some quite extraordinary refereeing decisions, Barca losing the plot, Valencia being crippled by injuries and Sevilla lacking strength in depth. Real were absolutely fucking awful at times. I mean, losing at home to Levante?

Capello wasn't just hated by the players, he was hated by everyone. Not surprising, because he's a ****. 'Beautiful football is dead'—his own words, or a reasonable approximation of them. Ramos, fortunately, has a very different philosophy. I'm not 100% convinced by him, but he is the one coach other than Mourinho (about whom I also have misgivings) that I believe might be an improvement on Jol.

not sure i buy this idea that more training = more injuries. Plenty of evidence to suggest that the right type of training minmises injuries.

ermmm no the reason i believe we keep picking up injuries is lack of fitness
believe me if ramos is this fanatical about his training we will deffo see a different spurs team in 2-3 weeks

Yeah but when youre used to training in one amount and change it soon u will easier get injuries.. When i got promoted from my youth team to the a-team i and the other youth members started struggling with smaller injuries because of the harder training!

Im sure Ramos knows this and it will be important he adjust the training amount gradually and over time!

We don't actually pick up any more injuries than anyone else, and considerably fewer than some teams.
