I'm sure he would have to insist he's improving every game because it's simply not true. If he wasn't English he would be universally slated by the press and the vast majority of fans every game. I'm sure there is a coach out there that sees enough to think he can get something from him, so we should sell while we can cos his career will only going downhill at spurs from here on in.

It's been good to see Kane step his game up and improve continuously to become a deserved member of the 1st team squad. Mason has also done a good job for the team.

I'd like to see Townsend achieve. Last season before his injury he had the best dribbling stats in the league. If he could use this to get down the flank and whip in constant crosses for Kane and Soldado he could be an effective player.

At the moment he cuts in too much and shoots and doesn't appear to be changing this. Being young and English he could command a £7m+ transfer fee. My gut is telling me this is the right way to go.

I am not a fan of Townsend - but I think he is playing better. Is not shooting more accurately, but I think he is shooting less frequently.

I think the worst thing that might have happened to him in his career is scoring the goal against Montenegro. It made Townsend, and his supporters, think he is better than he really is. Maybe his best position will end up being on the left, where his shots will be naturally limited, and he can work on his crosses.

Thank you! I am sick of this effing inverted winger thing. A left sided player should be on the left and a right sided player should be on the right. We need more crosses into the box!! It's OK to swap wings now and again to mix things up and confuse the opposition, but that's it as far as I am concerned.

needs some tough love if he is to make it.

Look up and link the play - stand a better chance of playing, keep shooting like a headless chicken and you wont improve, what you will be is wearing a black and gold striped shirt listening to Steve Bruce.

Had to laugh when he put that through ball for Kane last night and Kane wasn't ready. He couldn't believe he didn't shoot lol.
Edit- neither could I.

I agree; play him on the left....where he belongs.

There is nothing better than an academy prospect going through the ranks, working hard and coming good - and due to the fact that Andros is an academy player and one of our own means we are perhaps a little bit more patient. However, I'm sorry but I don't believe Townsend has the capacity to change. Not once have I seen him get into an advanced position and put an incisive through ball to his team mate. If he can't learn very, very quickly to rein in his temptation to shoot wildly and explore more subtle attacking options (you know, like passing and that) it leaves us with no option but to move him on. In fact folks I think he has regressed since coming onto the scene. Shame, but it might be time to say cheerio and good luck.

I disagree as his value is a lot higher due to playing for Engkand and scoring so if we sell him it will be easier to get a few bidders, maybe though Townsend just needs to go back to basics play the simple ball put in crosses instead of cutting in and shooting if he starts to remember his the to create more than score he might come good if he could shoot / finish like bale he would be ok but he can't.

I really believe cabellos and Nathan Odwa would offer more going forward.
