It would be a very strange world if the team that's second in the PL and who last year were in the end the only serious challengers to the winners didn't have a bunch of players that other clubs wanted.

There's not a player at Spurs who some other club hasn't cast envious eyes over. It doesn't mean we're going to sell them.

We have reached a level that any player we wish to keep will cost astonomical fees.
The only teams that find it worthwhile to buy them are those that wish to make a statement to the world. Galactico creating teams.

Man utd want to be in that position and have the money for it. But it would be stupid for them to do so.

Also dier is not galactico class.

they do realise a new stadium is going up? not just the old one coming down.. it's not a closing down sale. This week almost the whole team has been linked away, including the manager.

These clubs will keep on trying to get our best players but we desperately need to keep them, all of them. Even Lamela, with this squad and Poch in a couple of years we'll have a great chance of the title, but not if our rivals pick us off.

Good English players get a lot of attention.

Starting XI England players even more so. Add relative youth to that and players will get linked to the 'money' clubs.

Its a bit of a double edged sword have 5* of those in our team but I'm hoping our upward trajectory excites them as much as it does me :)

*Maybe 6 with Winks coming through...

not sure how this would go down, but until we started playing 3 centre backs this season, Dier's place in the starting eleven wasn't entirely nailed on.

Wanayama has taken over 1 of the two CMs spot, Dembele has the next spot.

In defence, Toby and Vert have the 2 CB spots.

So it's formation alone keeping Dier in the 1st team.

So the question is, would he stay at Spurs to be on the bench (where he will get many minutes i'm sure, but not start very often) rather than go to the Mancs to be in their 1st team?

I'm not so sure.

It's an interesting question and worth considering how other players in his position have fared in the current Utd.

They've created an opening for a player like him by selling Schweinsteiger & Schneiderlin, you've also got ageing players like Carrick & Rooney who are probably in their last season for Utd. Yet their central midfield is still packed with big name players Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Mata, Herrera, and a few 'go-to' players like Fellaini & Lingard.

Dier would be exactly the sort of player that they need but I'm not convinced that Jose would actually give him the game time as he's not a big name star player (yet)... And anyway he'd miss his Dele too much

Not sure how the 3rd placed team could be considered the only credible challengers to the title, but agree otherwise, I guess

Because Spurs were the last team remaining who could overtake Leicester, and were only overtaken once it was impossible for anyone else to catch them.

How about Poch finally switched to 3 at the back to accommodate Dier?
I know Poch rates him highly. He's very powerful player, difficult to leave him out on the bench.

Love Dier, but is he a 40 million center back? Unfortunalty he won't replace Wanyama while he's with us
