BBC Live Text
93 mins SUBSTITUTION Rose for Eriksen
88 mins SUBSTITUTION Burnley
83 mins SUBSTITUTION Soldado for Kane
78 mins 2 SUBSTITUTIONS Burnley
HALF TIME Tottenham 2-1 Burnley
43 mins SUBSTITUTION Stambouli for Mason
34 mins GOAL Tottenham 2-1 Burnley - Erik Lamela (35 mins)
Christmas has come early at the Lane. It's just raining sensational strikes in north London - this time Erik Lamela cutting in from the right and bending a shot beyond Tom Heaton from 25 yards. Gareth Bale-esque.
26 mins GOAL Tottenham 1-1 Burnley - Ashley Barnes (27 mins)
Ashley Barnes comes up with something special - the big striker being fed by George Boyd, taking a couple of touches and then hammering a shot into the top corner from outside the area. Boom.
20 mins GOAL Tottenham 1-0 Burnley - Harry Kane
The unstoppable force of nature that is Harry Kane does it again - the young striker stooping to head home Nacer Chadli's cross from the left. The Burnley defence was caught napping by a quick free-kick, and they pay the ultimate price.
2 mins YELLOW CARD Davies for foul on Boyd

Need to be weary about games like this. Could easily be another West Brom, Stoke or Newcastle. Burnleys good form atm has gone unnoticed by many, hopefully not by our manager/players. Can not understimate them, although I'm sure we've learned by now.

Not so good away from home. Only 1 win in 6 (Vs Stoke) and only managed 4 away goals so far (2 Vs Stoke, 2 Vs Leicester)

I wonder if this time we'll actually see continued progress instead of falling backwards again like we did after the game vs Everton.

COYS

This will be no 'walk in the park' or should that read 'at the Lane'?

A battle.........watch out for Danny Ings, this lad is good.

Would love him at Spurs....

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Emmanuel Adebayor is available for selection to face Burnley tomorrow. "He's available but we will see if I pick him or not. I'm happy with Ade and how he's been training. Maybe he's not 100% yet, but he's not far away. He's getting better. He needs training, he needs to improve, especially his physical condition, but he's getting better." #THFC

No injuries going in the festive period. Not bad.

But that brings unhappy faces with it. Not interested in seeing Adebayor on the pitch or on the bench. Important to build on on that Cup performance, so more or less the same players. Walker, Davies, Mason in for Stambo, Rose and Vlad and maybe Lamela/ Lennon for Andros.

Will be interesting to see who will be left out completely. Ade or Soldado? Capoue, Dembele or Stambouli? Rose, Kaboul, Dier or Vlad?

Anyway, three points lads, nothing else.

Unbelievable we go into the holiday season injury free. Absolutely remarkable. Increased evidence as to the benefit of the fitness regime changes on top of the slew of late goals we've nabbed this season (and of course, a wonderful stroke of luck).

Have a nice couple games coming up to build ourselves up before Man U and Chelsea. Hope we take full advantage.

First we get drawn against Sheffield over Chelsea now we have a fully fit squad? What's going on here? Very unspursy.

Burnley (h), Leicester (a), Man Utd (h) next 3 games.

7 points minimum please.

Small club mentality.

9 points for the taking!
If we get the 9 points we are equal points against "same teams" and only 1 point behind our tally for 19 games last term.
I am beginning to feel confident that MoPo will make the right decisions for practical rather than "philosophy" reasons.
