That goal has allowed them to play like the likes of Burnley against us with two banks of four. They are also doing what United did in having players drift wide behind our full backs and can play on the break.

Sad how we've let this team go so stale. This has been 2 years in the making imo. Ever since we left WHL. Sick of playing in Wembley. Sick of lack of investment. Sick of uncertain future of players (Alderweireld, Eriksen etc).

Main issue preseason has now presented itself much more clearly. We had five true CM's at beginning of year (Dembele, Sissoko, Winks, Dier, Wanyama). Alli, Eriksen, and Lamela all are more of attackers. Due to age, injury, or skill, none of those five could be classified as anything more than slightly-better-than squad players. None are true difference makers for a top four side. Winks best of bunch overall and Sissoko has certainly improved, but none would walk in and start every match on a different top four side.

Not signing anyone here was and is the main issue. Vic is done, Dembele was done, and Dier may be a better CB than CM. Everyone could see the issue but nothing was done. It feels like this past week, it has finally caught up with us.

Thing is this setup just doesn't benefit the players that can really make a difference at all. It's a dream for Trippier and Rose, but for Eriksen, Son and Kane, it really doesn't help. We're letting other teams off the hook by playing this.
