I love the way they quote figures. So £35.9m sounds so much more plausible than £36m; as though they really, really know this for a fact

Levy: "Quick, someone open FM Scout, give me some names and numbers. Donna, get the fax machine fired up, its time to make some deals..."

I think I’d prefer it now if we didn’t sign anyone and became the first team to start a season with the same squad as the previous year.

Even if we sign no-one, we still have one of the best teams in the prem that is capable of getting CL again.
Not this time I’m afraid, we weren’t good enough last year to challenge for the title and light years away now, teams go stale, same faces, same voices... we’ve plateaud out, Levy relied on naming rights money for signings and it’s backfired on the little shit, the silence is deafening and if it wasn’t so serious it’d be hilarious.....

I agree with your sentiment, but I don’t think the “little shit” part is going to go down very well on here 🤣

I think we can get top four, it looks like Utd are in a worse situation than us, Chelsea have at least lost a top keeper and have a new system to bed in, the goons aren’t up to it.

City look good as do Liverpool, but the scousers could crack under the weight of expectation.

Um....We had 9 players represented in the final stages of the world cup, players from our club not only showed up but gave amazing performances (Kane, Lloris, Trippier, Eriksen etc) Golden Glove? Golden boot? To say we've plateaued is laughable I'm sorry. What other club can say their players shone on the world's biggest stage? Yes we look a little lean in certain areas, but make no mistake we will be a force this season.

We will be a force but it's looking like a lesser force than previously with others around us strengthening with us as yet not looking likely and that is a concern for many but no surprise.

The teams that were above or competing with us over the last 5-10 years, Leeds, Villa, Newcastle, Blackburn, Newcastle and Everton have fallen away due to not being sensible or bad decisions. But here we are without the resources of 2 Manchester clubs, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, but still we have been finishing above some of those clubs, we have in place I believe a plan to put us on a more level playing field with those clubs but some fans cant see that, they just want it now. We have improved and are a better club under Levy and though I cant always understand some of the ways we go about things (we were never going to get Grealish for £25M so if we dont rate him higher we shouldn't bother bidding, and this one.....?) and I want signings now, but I just keep remembering the poor imitation of a mid table club we were before he was in charge.

Mate there can't be many people who don't recognise that we have moved on from levys early years and more importantly the sugar years, but the frustration people are feeling in general is that it's looking like the manager, players and fan's have been duped into thinking a decent investment would be happening this summer to kick on from all pochs good work, it seems that is not the case and everyone is left looking bewildered at another chance missed.

I wasn’t necessarily thinking that we’d sign a load of top players, but to be the only Prem side not to sign anyone is a bit underwhelming, to put it nicely. Agree, missed opportunity to kick on and improve. That big sponsorship deal has so far fallen flat on Levy’s face.

If we can play the same 'First XI' for every game of the season, then yes.

But As 8/9 out of 11 of those are unfit/injured for the first game of the season already snookers us slightly.

The fact that we can't sell our unwanted 'squad' players speaks volumes.

First XI squad awesome, squad ?

Also I do wonder how much this window will have hacked off Poch. And wether that transmits to his demeanour and onto the players.

New stadium to settle into, after 6 'away' matches to start the season.

CL this season is going to be tough imo
